I can't get the convergence on my ws 55511 hdtv to go away. I've tried with the remote. How can I get this corrected?

If the convergence will not adjust you have a convergence circuit problem.

This model uses a single STK-393-110 CONVERGENCE IC I can't get the convergence on my ws 55511 hdtv to - 129b244.jpg If you are handy and know how to solder it is a 12 dollar part on EBAY

I have start to finish step by step instructions for this repair in this set.

Most shops will charge 300 or more for this repair.

If you want the instructions let me know and I will post them here for free.

How do i reset my mitsubishi television model#ws-55511
First a reset may not help unless I know what your problem is.

If model listed (WS-55511) IS CORRECT: set has 3 hidden menus:

Option Menu (hard reset of all settings to factory)
Technical Menu (Adjustments for various things)
Convergence Menu for adjusting convergence.

THESE ARE NOT ACCESSED FROM CUSTOMER MENU. Each requires Mitsubishi remote and a 4 digit code .......

So, What is your issue with the set?


I have the codes but it depends on model number and what problem with set is, reset is in Option menu but will not cure all problems.

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi HDTV Front Button lock?

If you have misplaced your remote control, and have engaged the Mitsubishi HDTV Front Button Lock, you can bypass the front button lock by pressing and holding the MENU button on the front panel for more than 8 seconds.

Model WS-55809, when powering up the picture is distorted colors not converged, it does eventually work correctly but the length of time varies for it to converge. once it is correct it remains untill you...
Convergence board is bad.

Mitsubishi HDTV 1080, model WS-55511. Color convergence is off but only on the outsides of the screen; in the center it is fine. Can this be fixed or do I need to replace the television?
Yes, it can be repaired, replace convergence out chips (two ICs) on main board.
If you are not comfortable with TV repair or have no experience, call local tech to fix it. Cost of repair would be $180 or so.

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.
