Replacing belt but brush drum does not turn
Are you sure that you have the right size of belt? This is the correct belt:
Riccar 8850 Belt

ez...there may be a second belt or the bearings in the beater are gummed up. Open up the area where the beater is. There should be a belt in there...if it is broken, you'll have to replace. Before you do...turn the beater by hand...if it turns hard, the bearings are jammed up with old grease or debris. You'll have to deal with that.
