DVD-R playback on MacBook Pro

I have a JVC DR-MV7SU (had a DR-MV1SU). I have a new MacBook Pro running Leopard 10.5 When I put a disc recorded on my JVC into my MacBook it will not recognize the disc and ejects it. The discs will play on my old Powerbook with Tiger 10.4 and CD burner. Apple did replace the DVD drive with no success. Any thoughts on compatibility? thanks

Where can I get an owner's manual?

JVC has the Instruction manual for the DR-MV1S on the product support page: http://support.jvc.com/consumer/product.jsp?modelId=MODL027221 . The final letter in the model number identifies the country where the DVD recorder was sold. The link to the manual is under Literature on the left side of the page. The direct link to the manual is http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/95/LPT0918-001B.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I have an JVC dvd/video player and when I turn on the power it doesn't do anything . so I was wondering were can I take it to have it check out? the mn>DR-mvisu,sn> 129A5605

More than likely its just a blown fuse, I had this happen with a SONY combo unit i had , I used a Philips head screwdriver opened it up and took the fuse to FRY's Electronics or a radioshack if its more convenient put the new one in works like a charm.

Does this model support DVD+R media or only DVD-R?

From what i can tell from the manual it will support both discs as long as they are the proper video or audio format. If you need further assistance please let me know. Thanks, Midwest-tek

I have a JVC DR MV7SU DVD/Video recorder. How do

If your camcorder allows you to connect to a tv or vcr and allows you to record from it to the camcorder via the rca video input, then you should be able to record it that.  The camcorder must have the RCA audio/video inputs on it to be successful.

Turn the player OFF,
Press and hold the power button, While holding it, press the Stop button for 2 seconds or more.

Once its reset, see if it will eject.

My JVC DR-MV7 will play most DVDs and even record, but recently, it stopped being able to finalize. After I get the message saying "finalization has failed," I can't even play the DVD anymore - thus losing...

My JVC DR-MV7 will not accept any disc for playback. I insert a movie disc and it consistently rejects them. After about 15 to 20 attempts, sometimes it will stay and begin reading the disc. It also sounds like some internal components are encountering some resistance (moving parts inside?). Any ideas?

LOADING

It is pretty common problem.
If all of your DVDs are having same problems,
it is most likely either optical sensor is at fault. The other could be the actual loading mechanism problem.
If the dvd tray(drawer) closes all the way in but the DVD disc never completes the loading(reading) procedures, 1) it could be simply dirty or damaged disc. 2) the optical pickup device (eye) is dirty or just went defective. 3) sometimes the drawer tray that houses the DVD did not complete to engage in disc reading position can produce this result.

I would suggest: first check the position of the drawer and condition(s) of your DVD disc itself.
If the pickup device(optical eye) is dirty or defective, that needs to be serviced by a qualified technician. or contact JVC service center. Their information can be found at
