My front load washer is flashing DL. It is a maytag but I do not know the model number. I bought it about 2 years ago. I have it in my apartment and I think that it is 24" in width.

Hello the error code F with a DL is usually a clogged or kink in the drain line.
Unplug washer and remove drain hose and clean it out.

Check area where Line connects to washer closley for any debris and remove it.

PLEASE KKEP IN MIND THAT THE MAYTAG NEPRUNE FRONT LOAD WASHER IS WHAT GOT MAYTAG IN TROUBLE!!!!!!
Whirlpool bought MAYTAG about 3 year ago.

THe mold is because of the rubber boot in the front of the door. PLEASE check to see if the rubber seal has a small hole in the lower bottom of the seal to let small portions of water drain out. If you DO NOT have this small hole, you need to replace the rubber boot with one that has a hole.
NOW, WORD TO THE WISE and this is what I tell ALL FOLKS that have a FRONTLOAD WASHING MACHINE:
AFTER you washer in the washer LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN so that the washer can ventilate and remove any moisture that is within.
ALSO, every 2 months, get a WHITE CLOTH with WARM WATER and a littl;e bit of BLEACH and CLEAN THE RUBBER BOOT!!!!!!

I have the same problem. I have spent about $1,400 in repairs on this damn machine since we bought it about 8 years ago. It works for a bit then something else goes wrong. This is the fourth time I've had this problem.
It's the belt, it's the motherboard, its this its that $200 a pop. Just enough to say ok, any more I'd buy a new one, then a few months later something else happens.

What happened to Maytag? My mom and grandmother both had maytags for years, decades without an issue. The new ones ****.

Try and get the serial number then contact a Maytag agent. The serial number in most cases is a date code.

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. THE COMPANY SHOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS. HERE IS MY SOLUTION: GO TO LOWE'S HARDWARE AND BUY A WASHER AND DRYER THERE. BUY THE GE BRAND. 3 YEARS AGO, WHEN OUR MAYTAG WASHER DIED, WE BOUGHT A NEW GE WASHER BEFORE MY FATHER DIED IN 2006. BUT CHECK INTO THAT. I'm sorry but no, all major appliances now have a one year warranty unless you purchase an extended warranty.
To assist you I need the Make and model number. I also nee to know if you have experienced any water drainage problems in your home. This will help make a determination on what to look for.

this is a bogus website that is trying to push smelly washer product....no real fixes and there are other products out there for less just use bleach first

Your pump, or the hose between the pump and drum, might be clogged.  Could be spare change from unemptied pockets.
