My RCA TH1702-A mp3 player will turn on, but go no further. What is wrong?

For radio on the TH1702, look in the manual on page 16:

PDF files can be read with Adobe Reader. When not having this reader get this freeware from Adobe:

Go to here: http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads/?sku=TH1702 and download either of the Firmware Updates/Restore Utility and run it on your PC while your 1702 is connected via USB.

Mine wouldn't connect and would tell me it was too full (even though I had plenty of space) and would shut down. I ran this utility, and it reinstalled the firmware and formatted the device, now it works perfectly.
