Your motor is too large.

For the Intex Mariner 4 Intex recommend an absolute maximum of 3HP (2,2kW) and the motor must not weigh more than 40lb (18,2kg).

Those limits assume that you are using the Intex motor mount kit (Part No. 10658) and that the boat is correctly loaded and inflated.

In reality and from experience I would personally recommend 2HP maximum power and to keep the motor as lightweight as possible. Although the Intex Mariner 4 can take a motor mount, it's really a rowboat and is not suited to using a motor for extended periods, but just as a convenient tender to a larger boat it's fine.

Evinrude 40 hp power trim why does it not engage from shifter handel or on up down buttons on engine?

Hi. Uncertain if you own a runabout or a larger boat but this might help. Because you have tried both control positions for the trim adjust, I suspect the trouble lies with 1. power to hydraulic pump (or electric ratchet motor if so equipped)
2. frozen, corroded or stuck trim plates or transom mount swivel points.
3. Check for correct levels of hydraulic fluid in system or test for correct voltage to ratchet motor(s) if this is the system used. Use a jumper cable to directly power the motors or activators if low, or irregular voltage found. Test again.
4. Any obstruction or debris deposition at or near the working parts.
Finally, a local marine mechanic will tell you what is wrong and the cost to fix.
Hope this helps.

Firing order diagram for Chev 350 reverse marine engine. Do I bring the # 1 up the same as the other engine? If I am looking down at the engine, with the distributor towards the front of the boat and I am...

While looking at the engine from the side or from an overhead view, the #1 cylinder will always protrude slightly further to the front. In other words, the valve cover and head that has less room behind the water pump and sticks out further is #1. Firing order 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 is the same.

Can Intex mariner 4 carrie an engine Yamaha 8 HP with a modificated mount if the engine have 60 pounds?

no. my 28 lb 3.5 tohatsu strains the pvc material that the tubes are made out of pretty well. the weight and thrust of the motor pulls pretty hard on these tiny little rubber "feet" glued to the tubes. I usually dont even run full throttle as it looks like i will pull the motor mount feet right off the tube. I couldn't imagine a bigger, heavier motor than what i am running working out well in the long run.
i have the intex mariner 4, btw.
