If the laptop is not charging the battery, I would suggest to download and install the BIOS update at www.support.dell.com (if you have at least 20% battery charge) If this fix wont resolve the issue, i apologize but the motherboard needs to be replaced. Hope this helps

Sometimes, by downloading and installing the BIOS update may bot solve the problem if you are having the 3rd party after-market battery, because the battery does not have the right source code to communicate with the BIOS at all. If updating the BIOS can not fix the problem, you will need to get a good battery. I used to order from this place: www.dekcell.com

Have battery and plug in for laptop. the laptop begin to start with the Dell page, then shuts off. the battery icon shows red like charging but them just shuts off . If I take battery out, no power at all.

This sounds like a problem with the AC charger not providing enough power. The battery never charges enough to maintain power during boot. See if you can borrow a charger to check (maybe from a local shop), or buy one (since you'll probably need one anyway). Don't over pay. I see them on eBay for $12 or so. I bought one recently from a local shop for $25. That should give you a ballpark price. Post your zip code, maybe someone here can help you.

Cant able to charge the battery in dell 600

first check your charger cable that everything are ok. if not then tell me is your computer run only from your battery back up. if not then i think your battery become weak. so it is unable to keep charge. then the way is change your battery and buy original battery from Dell show room. but if battery ok then change your charger.
thanks

Not charging battery

this is simple, there are only two things tht can be wrong or faulty:
1. your charger is messed up, or it simple is not an original dell charger in wich case replacing the thing with an original D600 charger will fix it.

2. your battery is messed up and u may need a new one or its not an original

Mind you many parts of a dell are configured only to worked with same model and original pieces so make sure all the parts are real then if the problem persists, check (for the charger) when the wire is wriggled wether the little green light flickers if it does replace the charger if not try the laptop with somone elses battery to see if it works well if it does change batteries if not then its an internal wiring problem and the warranty will cover tht altough it is Highly unlikely that wiring problems will be present...

Flashing Lights On My Computer?

You've changed the batteries, but are they fully charged?

I usually leave my charger in all the time when using the laptop as Advent laptops have bad battery life.

Try charging it for max 8hours. If the problem stil persists, then i guess its something internally wrong with the laptop?

Or even, the charger wire may be a bit loose which is preventing it from charging the laptop either completly or partly.

Hope that helped

Dell latituded600 charger lcd off,

Ok... that makes a little more sense... Here is what i want you to check... Disconnect the AC Adapter from the system and plug it into the mains, check the LED light (Should be Green). Then plug in the connector to the laptop, check the LED. If the LED turns off when you connect the laptop. Your Laptop motherboard needs to be changed.

I don't know how to charge my battery

Its ok. Um just leave the battery plugged into your laptop and the power cord plugged into the laptop as well and the laptop will charge it for you. If it won't, the battery is no good and get a new one but you don't need a external battery charger to charge your laptop battery.

Laptop not charging

It happened because of the short circut - when there is short circut as a safety measure it disconnect and avoid further damage - trip off

In your case power adapter and battery are good but check the power socket of the laptop - if they are also ok then its a motherboard issue. - open it and check up for circut short.
