for my post #108 for a step-by-step solution with pictures. $21.83 is all it cost me. I fixed my own TV as many others on that forum have. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you run into difficulties.

The D Board is defective. I had exactly the same problem and I fixed my KV-34XBR800 replacing it. I got the D Board directly from Sony for $233 (including sales tax and 2-day shipment).
LED blinking Seven times. High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.

What can I do to fix the problem? How much should it cost to have a tv repair man fix this issue?
I tried to turn on my Sony FD Trintitron Wega KV-34BR800 34" TV with NO luck. The standby keeps blinking 7 times. Once the Sony FD came back on and was ok until I turned the set off... now it's back to the standby blinking 7 times mode. We called Sony which connected us with a Tech that came out to the house... the bad news it was the D board and that it would cost $559.05. He added this happens all the time. Of Course you know what I think of Sony products now. It's probably smarter to purchase a new TV.
