My machine will not finish a cycle and just stays filled with water.

It sounds as though you either have a clog in the drainage system of the machine, or a bad drain pump.

The machine stopped in the wash part of the cycle, the lights flash and the water won't drain. Have tried putting it straight to the drain cycle but it does the same. All my best clothes are in there,...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Don't panic!! Follow my guidance notes below which include what to do about the water ;-0)

Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

My self cleaning oven will not lock, so I am assuming it is broken. My oven needs to be cleaned. Since you can not use an oven cleaner on it, what can I use to clean it?

HELLO,

Please carefully apply the below instruction to clean up your range

self cleaning solution

  • 1 Remove oven racks and soak them in soapy water
  • 2 Turn on your automatic oven cleaner; this usually entails locking the door and turning the function switch to "clean."
  • 3 Let the oven do its work; it will heat for several hours, charring off baked-on food.
  • Fast Cleaning method
  • 1 Remove oven racks and place them in soapy water to soak.
  • 2 Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
  • 3 Turn the oven off and spray the inside with oven cleaner.
  • 4 Allow to sit for 10 minutes.
  • 5 Wipe the cleaner and dirt away with a damp sponge, rinsing frequently. 6 Dry with a soft cloth

  • hope this solution help?

    thank you.

The water is not draining away. Hotpoint WD63

filter is located at the bottom rear of the appliance... if its pump obstruction then to lay the drain hose into a bowl is a means of getting the water out manually.. if its a blockage and water wont drain this way then lay the unit down on its R/H side (not soap dispenser side)....then acces to the filter can be made without flooding the place..best if 2 persons were to do this as the machine can be heavy when full with water and clothes.. best of luck..

you got to have the drain installed and run a cycle with water in so the the washer has water in so that it can condense the steam and drain it out. hope this helped.
