Sounds like you need a new lcd screen for your Blackberry Storm. What probably happened is the backlight for your screen went out and unfortunately the backlight is not replaceable so you have to replace the screen. If you'd like us to repair it for you email me at [email protected]
Did this happen all of a sudden? Was the phone dropped? Chances are the backlight in the screen went out or the ribbon cable inside the phone that connects the screen some how came loose.
Hi. The backlight is part of the LCD screen, so if you replace the LCD screen you'll fix the problem. Have a look here for a guide to replacing the screen and to buy the parts http://www.formymobile.co.uk/n95disassembly.php
I hope this will help. I had the same problem with the message alert light not turning off. I have phone service through the internet. I would clear messages from my base unit and alert would continue to flash. I went into my internet message center and found a few old messages there. Why they got there is beyond me, but after clearing them my alert light went out and stayed off. I disabled messages to internet inbox and now it flashes only when I get messages to my base unit until I listen or clear them. Easy fix to annoyance I've had for some time.
Your backlight finally went out. If doing it yourself, you need to order 2 to 4 backlights along with an inverter. It is good to replace both at the same time. The backlights are like mini floresent tubrs that need to be taken out and replaced by some one who has done it before. The cost will run you about 50.00 if you do it yourself.
Take care
Kevin
