I own a SmartParts SP15MW photo frame. It has been working for more than a year. Today when I attempted to turn it on neither the “on” button on the remote nor the switch on the frame itself would turn the frame on. I checked the remote control battery voltage and it read 3.2 volts. I checked the output connector on the power supply adapter that powers the frame and it indicated 12 volts.
Are there any quick fixes or will the problem will require repair—if so, what are my options? I have reasonable electronics expertise.
It's the power adapter... I had the same problem as of yesterday and today I used the power supply from my HDTV and it worked as good as new. Will have to go out tomorrow and get a new power supply.
I have the same issue and was told to take to radioshack (now source) by smartsparts to check voltage on the adapter but employee at source dont know what I am talking about and wanting me to buy a new adapter to try worth $22.00. I am planning to call smartparts again to give me another option. My adapter has still a green light on but without the frame it is solid but when attached to the frame it blinks but all in all my frame is still not turning on.
