Answering message I can't figure out how to erase an old answering message and record a new one!

New messages must be deleted one by one.
All old messages can be deleted in one shot. When the system isn't recording or playing, press and hold the ERASE button until it announces "Messages Erased."

How do i erase messages

To erase a message while it is playing, press the ON/OFF ERASE button. The


answering system announces, "Message Erased" to confirm the message has been


erased.


To Erase All Messages: When the answering system isn't playing or recording messages, press and hold

the ERASE button until you hear the "Messages Erased" announcement. Release the

button after the announcement. This feature allows you to erase all old messages

but not new messages. If you do not have any messages, the answering system

announces, "Zero Messages."

How do i erase messages

To erase a message while playing, press the ON/OFF ERASE button. To delete all old message, while not playing or recording a message, press and hold the ON/OFF ERASE button until "MESSAGES ERASED" appears.

greeted by a greeting message. You can
record your own greeting message or
use a pre-recorded greeting message.
Recording your greeting
message
You can record your own greeting
message (2 minutes max.).
1 {GREETING REC}
2 Within 10 seconds, press
{GREETING REC} again.
3 After the base unit beeps, speak
clearly about 20 cm (8 inches) away
from the MIC.
4 Press {?} (STOP) to stop recording.
Using a pre-recorded greeting
message
If you erase or do not record your own
greeting message, the unit plays a prerecorded
greeting message for callers
and asks them to leave messages. If the
message recording time (page 39) is set
to “Greeting only”, caller messages
are not recorded and the unit plays a
different pre-recorded greeting message
asking callers to call again.

Press {GREETING CHECK}.
Erasing your greeting
message
If you erase your own greeting message,
the unit plays a pre-recorded greeting
message for callers.

Erasing Messages

The unit will announce the remaining recording time after playback, if it is less than
5 minutes. New messages cannot be recorded when:
— “Memory full” is heard.
— “ ” is displayed on the base unit.
— ANSWER ON indicator flashes rapidly (only when the Answering System is on).

Erase some, or all, of the messages in a mailbox. We recommend you erase unnecessary messages after each playback.


Erasing a specific message
Press [ERASE] while the message you want to erase is being played.
• A short beep will sound and the unit will continue to play the next message.
Press [ ][4] while the message you want to erase is being played.
• A short beep will sound and the unit will continue to play the next message.

Erasing all messages in the mailbox
1. Press the soft key ( ).
2. Press the soft key ( , or ).
• If Mailbox 2 or 3 has a password, enter it (p. 51).
3. Press [ ][5] to erase all messages in the mailbox.
• A long beep will sound and “Mailbox (No.)” and “No messages” will be heard.
• To end remote operation, press [OFF].

sorry it sounds like the folder may be lost forever.once you pressed the record button, the recorder knew it as a new recording in that folder.look at it like a answering machine going out message. if you made a mistake,and you wanted to record a new message,the old message would be erased.if your folder was on a cassette recorder, you would have only erased those few seconds.

Try just pressing down on the greeting button on the answering machine, you will hear the lady say "record greeting" and keep holdong down until you are finished recording the message. When you are done, remove your finger, done!
