Does it show "Printing" or "Spooling" in the job queue window?

Open the Job queue window, then highlight and cancel the print job. Send a small print job to the printer and make sure that the PC and the printer are communicating.

If the failure re-occurs, then clear the queue again and close it and restart i=the queue.

Print que on hp 4300 says "printing" but nothing happens and I cannot clear que

Hello,

This is a common problem with Windows machines. If a print job gets corrupted in the print que it will stop and block all other jobs from printing. It will also block the job from being deleted normally. You have to stop the print que service and then delete the print jobs from the que. Here is a link to a full article that shows how to stop the que, delete the print jobs and restart the que to restore printing.

Printer shows out of memory

This usually means that a print job was sent to the printer that won't fit in the memory. Cancel the print job and try again. You might want to upgrade the printer memory capacity.
Also make sure you have the latest printer driver in Windows.

Only prints first job - can't delete from que

Please try this approach instead:

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)

2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.

3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

4. Double click the printer icon in the lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View -> Refresh.

I hope this information has been helpful.

Won't print it always says document in queue

This sometimes happens if a print job freezes before, or during the print. I would suggest two things. Open up your print que, which you should be able to access from the bottom right hand side of your screen in your task bar. Right click, and open print que. If there is a print job in the que that says printing, try to right click on the job and cancel it. If this does not work and you have not done so already, restart your computer and your printer! Go back into the que if you have to and if the job is still there, right click and cancel job again. Then, retry printing a something different from your printer. This should solve your problem.

HP laserjet P1005

Go to the printer properties, you can go from Start-->Printers and Faxes. Select the printer (it should say something like, HP LaserJet P1005 on DPR1260 ..... make a double click on there. Then select Printer -----> Properties. Then go to Ports, and DE-SELECT the box that says: Enable bydirectional compatibility. IT SHOULD BE NOT SELECTED. Then Select Apply, and then Acept. After doing this, the printer should start working.
