Auto focus not working?

If the focus works OK in manual focus and you are getting problems with auto focus you may have a broken or worn ribbon in the lens.

Replace the broken ribbon cable in the lens

If it focuses OK on manual focus and won't focus on auto focus the problem may be down to a broken ribbon cable in the lens.

Your 100mm lens autofocus not working.it may be due to autofocus flex cable inside the lens damaged. It is replaceable part. You may have to contact service technician. However when you switch to manual mode it should focus & click. Try it.

You may just have the left auto focus points selected. You don't say which camera model you have. If on the back of your camera you can see a button with an icon showing 5 small white blocks in a plus sign in a white box press this to select the auto focus points. It should show the available auto focus points and then use the left/right (wheel) button to change the selection

i think your lens calibration is not match as it default so the auto focus can`t determine the object sharply

you should contact your official service center to get it fixed

Check out the Canon guide for converters Some will not auto focus with a converter and you can only use manual focus

I have this prob in my canon EOS kiss SLR.

Hold the camera vertically.Switch on the AF and let the camera to auto focus.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't wondering....Check ur camera's sub mirror in the in side of the sub mirror.The spring that push back sub mirror from the main mirror is broken.......!

I see this same problem occuring all over the internet on Canon lenses. Autofocus not working any longer. For some stupid reason the lense will lock up and quit autofocus while other lenses will work fine. A light pull on the lense focus ring away from the camera body will give a noticable pop or click which unlocks the jammed lense. Try it if you are having troubles with your autofocus. This is a very common problem and worth giving it a try.
