If its an "GENERIC" problem,someone must have the solution..i would start with the motor, apply voltage direct to motor, making sure it worked,then work back through all the wiring,fuses,relays,solenids,sw,etc..etc.

Wherever it was that you took it off from. If it broke, then look to see where a spring might be while you have a friend slowly engage and disengage the assembly. If it's an electric engagement situation, bring it to a shop. If you don't have a friend, sorry. I'll be your friend.

Why will the blades not engage on my 2009cubcadet 1040

PTO switch maybe bad or fuses blown. Or possible a safety switch is bad. If none of those the PTO clutch is bad.
