Husky Wl6510 air compressor, motor runs and charges to about 50lbs and stops. Have to turn it off for about 45 secs then turn it back on and the motor will start back up and continue charging. It works better in cool weather. I assume the motor is overheating and tripping something internal, then will restart when cool. It is an electric motor so I am not sure what I can do other than replace it?
One other possibility is that the check valve between the compressor and the tank is letting air flow back against the compressor. Is it having trouble restarting when the pressure lowers to the cut-in pressure? If it doesn't want to start up again, sounding like it's starting against pressure, suspect that valve.
Ok, next thing to check is if the compressor may be overloading it. Is there a way to add oil to the compressor? Some are oilless, some are not. If it takes oil, make sure that it is filled with the correct oil. That could make it overload as well. When it stops filling, does the motor hum, or is it off completely? If it is off, check if there is voltage to it. Be careful, of course, to prevent being shocked. If there is no power to it when it shuts down, there's something wrong in the switch. If there is, lube the compressor (even spraying a bit of WD-40 into the air inlet while running will check it) and then about all that's left is the motor.

Go to the Campbell Hausfeld website at http://www.chpower.com/ and under 'Service and Support' click on 'Manuals/Parts List'. Put your model number, WL6510, in the search box and you'll be presented with all the parts breakdowns and manuals for that series compressor. The first part of the serial number on your compressor is a date stamp so use that to determine which manual or parts list you need.

It starts right back up with no problem. In the winter I only have to cycle the on/off once to get a full tank. In the summer it might take 3 or 4 times. The tank holds pressure fine.
there is power to it and there is no noise when it shuts down. I will check the rest of the suggestions this weekend, I appreciate the help. Dan
