The 700 will not start for this season. I called

The 700 will not start for this season. I put the humidistat in the test position and did not hear the click and the fan did not kick on. I called for heat, tested the electrical connections. Nothing. The fan and water control work as I crossed the two yellow wires coming out of the water control. I use the humidistat in manual setting. I am assuming that the humidistat is the issue. All worked well last year.

Yes I installed it when I installed the humidifier.

Robo: I tried to wrap the wire around the sensor but I do not have enough wire. I used electrical tape to insulate from metal. How do I know if the sensor is bad? When I used to put it in test mode, I heard a click and then it would start up -- without the heater running. Suggestions?

    Robo:

Still having problems with Apirlaire 700:
Unit will only start when I cross the two wires that come out of the water solenoid. I have installed a new Model 50 electric sensor. I have checked my connections. No power to humidifier. When I put the humidistat in test mode, nothing happens.

    Suggestions?

Do you have a relay on the unit that is in the blower area? looks like a little black box that has a metal Ushaped end that has a wire running into it

Reason why I asked they sometimes have a problem sensing current and you may need to wind the wire twice instead of one pass. If you jump the wires at the humidistat and the unit turns on its either the stat or you may want to do a relative humidity check on the house to see where your at

Best regards,
Tinner

was tha fan on while you wer in test mode if so the relay is working. If the fan was not on the relay is stuck in the closed position and will run even without the main blower running. I would check the humidistat for voltage at the hum or H terminals for 24 Volts when the unit is set higher than the relative humidity of the house.

I have an Aprilaire 700 humidifier and it won't come on. It has been in the 20's and it worked fine. We then had a couple days in the mid 30's, and it stopped working. I put the humidistat to test and it...

Did you get the plug back together. And did you plug it back in. Also make sure the Humidistat is set right. Here is site that might help you. Hope this helps.

Test the humidistat-- by taking one of the wires off one of the screws, and touching it to the other-
Does the unit come on?-- Then possibly the humidistat is bad.

Let us know what you find

My Aprilaire 700 does not seem to be working. The

you can bypass the humidistat by shorting the 2 brown wires on the bottom of the humidifier. just remove the 2 wire nuts and touch the 2 together (just 24v)if it comes on then there is a control problem with the humidistat or wiring if it doesnt come on the control board or transformer may be bad or you dont have 120v to the humidifier on the plug. also make sure your furnace blower is running cause the hum cant come on if its wired properly unless the fan is running. you also may want to go to www.aprilaire.com and get a maintenace kit from their online store. it comes with pad and new hose along with a couple other things.

I have a Honeywell House humidifier HE 225A-1006.

In order of probability:
1) (incorrect wiring) Make sure that humidistat is in SERIES wired with the furnace.
2) (shorted wires) Check that two wires to humidistat are not touching...use your glasses if you need them!
3) (bad humidistat) disconnect the humidistat and put an ohmmeter accoss the two terminals when it is turned on you should read 0 ohms, and when off it should read infinate ohms, if not pass both these tests, you need new humidistat.
That is it, there are no other possibilites!

Water and fan won't go on. Is there a way to bypass to see if it works,it is only 5 years old.And if it works how do I find the problem.

Turn the humidistat all the way up. This is the test position that will cause it to run continuously. The blower or furnace must be running, depending on how it is wired. If the humidifier has never been serviced in five years, call a professional. The orifices will plug and pad deteriorates after about a year. These need yearly maintenance to operate correctly.

Aprilaire 760 keeps running.

The humidifier should not turn on untill the furnace blower starts. Since the fan stays on. does the solenoid valve also stay on? If they both stay on you probably have a bad humidistat. If only the blower stays on then the circuit bourd in the humidifier is defective.
Good luck

Aprilaire 700 operating at wrong time

You want the humidifier to run in heat mode which is the r-w1 terminal on the stat.
