The problem is the keep warm element. The reason, your pot perc's and it gets hot near the thermo, the thermo turns off the main element. The keep warm element is not on so after a small amount of time the water cools and the thermo turns the main element back on again, thus making the water hot. The K W element is supposed to be on all the time the pot is plugged in, it is instrumental in perking the first brew making it really hot, the thermo turns off the main element and the K W element keeps the water hot. The K M element is very a easy fix, it is the small looking white rope that runs around the bottom of the pot. You have 1-nut and 1- screw to remove. When removing the screw from the main element you must hold the (leg) that the K M element is screwed to so it does not bend and brake off. Take your time and be firm with the pressure you apply to the screw, while holding it with a pliers Good luck. bobbyone

Hot water will not come down thru coffee

Your pour over coffee brewer has a reservoir that holds more than a pot of water. First thing you need to do is turn off the machine. Then put the empty coffee pot on the burner. Then take another container and fill it with fresh cold water and pour it slowly into the coffee maker until it starts to come out into the coffee pot. Stop pouring in water.

Now turn the machine on and let it heat up. Now you can brew normally. The reservoir has to be filled before you turn it on or you will end up eventually burning up the heating element.

Bunn pour omatic commercial coffee maker will not brew and it leaks

VPR is a pour over "Volume Displacement" brewer. Required to completely fill the inner tank and heat prior to using brewer. BEFORE plugging in unit, water must be poured into upper tray and with brew funnel and empty pot in place. Keep pouring water into top fill tray until water drips out of brew funnel. Plug in VPR and allow it 15-20 mins to heat up. leave the pot as there may be additional water dripping. Remove power if there is any water spilling out from other places like the top pan cover or bottom of machine. With the initial heating done, take a full pot of water and slowly pour into the top filling tray. HOT steaming water should come out of the brew funnel to fill the (empty) pot. Prep is done and the machine can be used to brew a pot after 10-15mins of reheat time.
*** the machine you have needs to be checked for leaks in areas mentioned above. Water should only come out of brew funnel (if not present then the brew head or if that is missing then the brew pipe. All will need to be replaced prior to brewing.) Leaking under machine is an indication of leak(s) in pour tray, tank, tank cover, gasket, probe gasket. This machine like any used equipment should be checked out by qualified tech prior to use. Be aware that coffee vendors sometimes rent or loan brewers to customers.

No pot or instructions, how much water do you put in the coffee pot?Need a replacement pot for vp17 series. thank you

You should be able to pick up a replacement/new pot at your nearest Restaurant Supply store. Make sure you get a 64 oz./ 1/2 gallon pot.
Before plugging in your brewer, unscrew the sprayhead located just above where the filter basket sits and replace the basket, pour 3 pots of cold water through the opening on the top if the brewer is empty. This brewer has a reservoir that holds about 2 1/2 pots of water at brewing temperature when heated. Make sure you put an empty pot under the filter basket after pouring in the water. Water will flow from the brew basket when the reservoir has reached its capacity. Once water flows you can then plug in and energize your brewer and replace the sprayhead. It will take about 15 to 20 minutes for the brewer to reach brew temp, you will hear the heating stop. Put an empty filter and a dose of coffee (I recommend starting with a heaping measuring cup of drip ground coffee) into the filter basket, lightly shake it level, replace the basket and pour through 1 full pot of COLD water in the top. For best results pour the brewed coffee into a pre-heated thermal server if you plan on holding the coffee for more than 10 minutes or so.
Enjoy!

How do I get the BUNN VPR coffee maker to brew a pot of coffee? There are two switches; one for the lower, and one for the upper warmer. Do I first have to fill the tank ALL the way before it brews? Please...

This brewer has a 2 1/2 pot reservoir. You should NOT plug in the brewer before the reservoir has been topped off. Pour 3 pots (one at a time, every minute or so) through the screen with a pot under the filter basket. Wait until the water flows from the basket and only then is it safe to plug in the brewer. The reservoir holds HOT water until you are ready to brew and then, by pouring in a pot of cold water, you will be able to brew.

Bunn VPR Series Coffee Maker will NOT dispense the water into the coffee pot?

This machine has a reservoir that holds about 2.5 pots and keeps them at brewing temperature. Therefore you should pour in 3 pots (with a pot in place under the filter basket) until water flows from the basket. Then, and ONLY then, it is safe to plug in the brewer. If you plug in the brewer BEFORE filling the reservoir you will burn up the heating element and will have to have it replaced.
After the initial filling and heat up (about 20 minutes) you are ready to pour through a pot of COLD water through and brew.

Our church received a Bloomfield Koffee King model 8571 and no instructions on how to set up and use the coffee machine.

Hi, Get 2 pots place one under the spray head with the filter cone in....now fill the other coffee pot and start to pour water through the lid top front...keep pouring water through (about two and a half pots) until water starts to pour through the cone....now the tank is full plug her in and turn on the power switch at the back and also the front if there is one....place filter in cone..put coffee in filter...pot on burner...wait about 25 minutes until water in tank is hot...when light on front comes on pour another pot of cold water through the top and you will get a pot of hot coffee in bottom....I also think this machine can be hard wired into water main....get plummer to hook up...follow same procedure but instead of pouring water through top for coffee..hit brew switch. if it poors too much of too little you will find a timer in the machine you can adjust to allow more or less water...hope this helps.

Bunn coffee maker

It sounds like you have a pour over model and the problem is the tank isn't full. Turn the machine off (or unplug it). Put a pot on the warmer like you are going to brew coffee. Pour clean cold water into the top until it starts coming out the sprayhead (above where the coffee grounds go). Now plug it in and turn on. Let it heat up then you can brew.

The way your machine works is that there is always about 2-1/2 pots of water in the tank. The water you pour in to make coffee is actually pushing the hot water in the tank out. So, if you don't fill the tank before using it, you may be hurting the heating element since it isn't totally submerged in water.

I have the same problem with my coffee maker, but I purchased mine in Walgreens more than a year. In Walgreens it has a different name (Signature Classics), but I'm sure its exaclty the same as the Haier HDC10LBS. I called and they do have replacements. The model#XQ698LT ITEM#W14A7123 and the Customer Service Phone#1 800 645 3869. The cost should be around $10 with Shipping and handling
