MONITOR TURNS ON AND OFF

AFTER USING THE MONITOR FOR HOURS IT CUTS OFF AND TURNS BACK ON BY ITSELF. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE WHEN IT'S HOT & WHEN I HAVE A WHITE OR LIGHT SCREEN ON

  • are_gjerde Apr 21, 2009

Have exactly the same problem. And I have just had my screen in for repair with Acer. Just got it back and problem still there. When the screen is warm, it turn itself of and back on. Im in the middle of an exam period and can't send it back to acer at the moment. This couldn't be caused by some incompatibility between graphics card and screen?

I have a hpw1907 monitor. It seems to get hot in the upper left corner. It shuts down until it cools and I can turn it back on.

whenever there is a hot surface after the monitor was on for hours, kindly report it immediately to HP becuase they need to repair the system board of it.

Disconnecting unexpectedly!

Hello! My recommendation would be to check if the Drive is over heating. Excessive heat could cause the disconnection either for drive protection or because solder points lose strenght. Turn it on, use it a while, right when it disconnects check if its hot. Or try to dissipate better the heat and see if it lasts longer

E machine monitor turns itself off and on

The same thing happened to me today. I was just sitting in my room then i hear a click and the cpu is on it stays on for a while then cuts off. It then cuts on and off with few seconds in between. It then stays in that way cutting and off for about a minite or two and then cuts off completely. A few minutes later it starts again. Also in the time it its off it will not turn on by pressing the power button. Sometimes it completly boots up by itself and then shuts itself down. If I shut it down manually while its on it'll turn itself on immeditaly after. What's going on! Will the warranty cover it? Do I need a new computer?

My Toshiba 32wlt58 cuts out every ten minutes.

I have just had that problem. Repairer said it was a chip in the power supply. Just got the set back this morning, ok for about 6 hours then cut out. Felt quite hot on LHS Will switch on again after a while, then cut out again. Suspect overheating problem took out PSU chip. Chip replaced but original fault still present

Is there a reset button on the dyson

The short answer: No. The longer answer begins with a question: why do you need to know, what's happened to make you ask? Most Dysons have a built in cut-out system that stops the machine if it gets too hot. This usually happens because the filter needs washing or the machine is blocked. If your machine turns off on its own, unplug it and leave it for at least an hour. The cut-out should reset itself when it's cool enough.  Remember to check the filter and look for blockages before re-starting.  If the cut-out does not reset itself, you may need professional help.

My monitor turns itself on and off with no prompting

Go into the control panel and check the system settings. You might have it set to turn the monitor off after a low number of seconds of use. If you have it set for 30 seconds, if you don't use the keyboard or mouse for 30 seconds, the monitor will shut off. When you start to use it again, it will come back on.

Overheat?

It sounds like an overheating problem. When it is booted, does it run ok other than just being slow? Check your cooling fan and make sure it is running and not stopped up. That is a number one symtom of overheating is freezing and rebooting by itself. There is a free program called "Motherboard Monitor 5" that will monitor the temp for you and set off an alarm when it is getting to hot. Check that problem first. Hopes this helps!

Sound cuts out for long periods of time

I have had the same problem. Only differance is that I run a freeview box though my 940 mw. I thought it was that playing up. Also I all the keys are locked on the unit itself. The remote works everything but when I press any buttons on the monitor you get a 'keys locked info' up on screen. Its doing my head in!!!

Tv turn itself off after a couple of hours

Your problem is bad solder connections on the sweep or power supply board. In some rare cases I have seen the regulator IC with ring cracks arounfd the leads and causing the set to shut off all by itself. If you know how to solder and work on solid state printed circuit boards, you should not have too much problems finding bad connections or monitoring the B+ voltage to see if thats what is cutting off the set. If you have no circuit experience with TV's play it safe and call in a pro to assist you in this repair, as it should not cost too much to find this problem, if it is just bad or cold solder connections. Good Luck Please do not forget to rate this thread.
