Lost entire picture, sound and everything else OK

Everything working fine, TV is 1 year + 1 week old(purchased black Fri. 2008), then last night, while watching, the screen/picture disapeared completely. The entire screen is now entirely a very dim/dull light blue. Everything else is working fine, sound-powers up and stays on-remote functions work. Current usage/set-up is just basic local reception from rooftop antenna straight into the 75 ohm ant. input. Also checked for picture from DVD player input from Video IN (rca jacks, not comp.)nothing there either. Any tips or troubleshooting help would be appreciated. Check the invertor boards resistors they power the back lights
also check for any capactors that have blown (raised tops) they look little bateries

Testimonial: "Your response was quick pointed me in the right direction I might need help with ID of components to continue"

the invertor boards run down each side at the back of screen on some models have covers over them to test( these are very small) resistor you will need a mulity meter and if read open cuirket replace

the first place to start looking for blown capactors( raised tops) is on the main power board

I awoke this morning to find the sound on my Apex Digital LD4088 LCD tv is dead. The picture is fine, but sound is dead, how do I solve this?

Download the user manual to your TV. Clik here to download it. See whether audio options to it are set right. If all are right, check its speaker. If speaker is OK, the audio output circuit section should be troubleshooted.
If you feel any difficulty in downloading the manual, send your email address to me. I'll send a copy of it to you by return mail.

T.V. comes on, there is sound but no picture.
T.V. is les than 18 months old. We use the T.V. when we come to our Condo in Daytona Beach for vacation, so it hasn't been used very much.

Toshiba Regza sound but no picture

I had the same problem last night - sound but no picture form any of the inputs - DVD, VCR, FIOS or antenna. I could still see the TV menu. If you go to the TV menu - you can go to the settings (far right top), from there you can choose to restore factory settings, usually needs a code - 0000 (if you did not choose a different one), select yes when prompted if you want to restore factory defaults. This brought my picture back. I lost all of my picture preferences i had set - but at least I got a picture! I hope this helps!!

No picture, sound ok

Rca has been known to have bad solder joints in the deflection circuits. Usually around the flyback and transformers.. check it over real good. Just be careful as you can still get shocked after the powers removed the capacitors and picture tube will hold a charge in them.
