Does the player plays Audio CD or VCD apart from DVD discs?

How long have you been using the DVD Player and did it give any sign before it stopped playing DVD discs?

All attention now should go to the lens. The questions above would determine whether the fault is from the lens or not.

Maybe the lens is very weak and that's why it cannot play DVD discs.

You could try cleaning the lens if it would make any difference, but if cleaning the lens does not make any difference, then the lens needs to be replaces.

For the lens to be replaced, you need to take it to a Qualified technician to do it for you.
