Ps3 disk stuck flashing light.

My ps3 80g has been sitting for about 4months now seeing as there is a disk stuck in it.
I've tried holding eject not sure if I'm doing it long enough but it'll go green yellow green flashing red light.
I've also tried using my license to try to push the disk out or help pop it out, no luck, I've seen people say use a paperclip or tweezers or take the thing apart. My warranty is up, I mean I'm not really saavy with that kind of stuff but I am sure if I take off the screws and then put them back where I got them I should be ok.
Figured I'd make a post before I did decide to take it apart to see if anyone could help, any advice would be fine with me, other than send it to sony seeing as I don't really have the money to get it fixed through them.

SOURCE: PLAYSTATION3 80 GB has lights flashing:green, yellow, green then flashing red.had a dvd disk that would not eject.i took it apart and removed disk.the dvd had some damage in one spot.playstation will no

Hi there James
it seems to me like you have the yellow light of death, but don't worry this is something that can be fixed.
You have two options here
Option1 you can send the console to SONY for $150, they will send you a refurbished model oh and all data may be lost. The whole process usually takes about 4-6 weeks.
Option 2You can fix the problem at home with a PS3 repair guide worth only $40 a 3rd of the cost of sony, the ps3 will be fixed within the next hour or 2.
Hope this helps

Ps3 has madden 12 stuck inside and when i power it up it turns off after 2 seconds.

Is your PS3 hot? If the PS3 system gets to hot I know it has a few issues starting/staying on. Leave it off for a bit and let it cool down. Make sure it's in a well ventilated spot and clear any dust off it and the surrounding area. Then try to turn it on again.

This is a weird fix, but I've read of some people finding success by removing their hard drive and turning the PS3 on without one in. You won't be able to use the PS3 in any meaningful way, but you might be able to eject the disk. Here's a nice guide to removing it. Afterwards put the hard drive back in and hope for the best.

You could also try booting into the recovery console, but if it won't turn on for more than 2 seconds you might not be able to get to it. Still worth a shot though.
1) With PS3 console off, hold power button until it turns on then off.
2) Release power button, then hold again until you hear 2 quick beeps, then release.
3) If, somehow, the console is on at this point, try ejecting the disk.
4) Follow instructions (connect controller), then just try the different options, starting with 1 and working your way down. You should know that option 4 (Rebuild Database) might delete some of your saved data, and option 5 (Restore PS3 System) definitely will.

I've actually gone through the same situation myself when I first got my PS3; I got the disk out by just constantly hitting the eject button. Randomly it worked and popped out, but I was still unable to turn it on for more than 2 seconds. I ended up having to send it in for repair which might be what you need to do. Here's the link to their service/repair website. It's not a fun process; if you're out of warranty it costs $100-$150, and either way it takes at least 3 weeks and you'll lose all your saved data. I remember the questionnaire asks if a game is stuck in the console or not, but I'm unsure as to how reliable they are at returning it.

In case your system is flashing any lights that may be useful, here's a link to what they mean. Not listed is Solid Yellow, which generally is referred to as the Yellow Light of Death (YLOD). If your console has that you're definitely sending it back to Sony.

Hope you're able to fix it!

I have playstation 3 model # CECHH01, a game is inside, when i power on the light goes green, then quickly goes blue then yellow and goes back to red and powers off leaving the red light blinking. What do...

well sounds like your PS3 needs to be reflowed or reballed. I would highly recomend you have a professional do the repair. as fas as having a game stuck inside the machine you can get it out in under 10 seconds by doing this.

1) turn off power switch in back of ps3
2) place finger on eject button and hold there while ps3 is off ( no red light)
3) while holding finger on the eject button turn power switch on the back of ps3 on , hold finger on eject button untill the disk ejects.
4) turn power switch off and have unit repaired or replaced.

if unit is covered by warranty and you send it to sony you must get your disk out of the system as you will NOT get it back if you send it to sony. Most reputable repair shops will return your disk with the system or give it to you before they take the system in for repairs. I ALWAYS give the game disks back before a customer leaves my shop as it leaves me with less to keep track of.

Mid game my console beeped and shutoff. Now it wont eject disk or turn on at all. Light goes Green, Yellow then flashes Red

your PS3 overheated, what you need to do is remove the power cable and hold the power button for 5 seconds to make sure that there is no power left, then plug it back in and press the eject button hold it down, it will power up and eject disk, if that fails, you need to RMA your ps3 to sony or you can try and return it to vendor with the game case or dvd case of the disk that is stuck they should replace both

When I turn on my PS3 the light flashes green 3 times then yellow twice then red. It won't eject the game disk. I've tried holding the eject button for up to 30 seconds without success.

Yellow lights and blinking red lights indicates general hardware failure on ps3. If your ps3 is still under warranty call Sony. North America: 1-800-345-SONY (7669) United Kingdom: 08705 998877
Now you could try doing a few things (hey it's worth a try!)
1. Turn off the switch in the back and wait a few minutes. Turn it back on and try it again. If that doesn't work it may be dead.
2. You could try this article, if you choose to, it's a long shot but might work for you in your case. http://ps3.qj.net/Possible-PS3-flashing-red-light-fix-from-MXACE/pg/49/aid/75721

My PS3 wont turn on it just flashes a yellow light then red light that beeps cant get disc out

I found a way to eject the disk:
 1. Power off the PS3 on the main switch on the back of the console
 2. Press and hold the Eject button
 3. Turn on the main power switch
 4. The PS3 LED will go green and the fan will spin at max speed
 5. Wait a few seconds and press the eject button a couple of times, the disk should now eject
 6. watch the PS3 die after 30s or so…
This procedure did not fix my PS3 but at least I got my disk back before sending it to Sony for repair.

PS3 won't turn on

hi Torgsrus.
PS3 Light sequence
The following pictures illustrate the CECHX0X model, however the light sequence is applicable to all PlayStation 3 models.

No lights are on:

When no lights are on, this means that the main power switch on the back of the ps3 is off or the PS3 is unplugged. When the main power switch is off (the '0' is pressed) and you will not be able to access any features of the PS3 system. To turn on the PS3 system, make sure the main power switch is on (the 'I' side is pressed down).

If the PS3 does not turn on:
· Make sure the power cord is not frayed or damaged
· Try using another power cord, if available
· Make sure the main power switch on the back of the PS3 system is turned on
· If you continue to have issues contact our Technical support.

Solid Red:

When the power status light is solid red, this means that the PS3 system is off (or in standby mode).
Standby, mode means the PlayStation 3 system is off, but is ready to be turned on by pressing the power button.

If the ps3 system will not turn on when you press the power button, this is an issue with the PS3 system and you will need to send your system in for service.

Solid Green:

When the power status light is solid green, this means that the PS3 is turned on.
You should be able to navigate the XMB, play games, access the Playstation store, etc.
To turn of the PS3, simply press and hold the power button for two or more seconds.
If the power status light is green ,and you are experiencing problems- have a look on our forums for troubleshooting.

Flashing Red:

When the power status light flashes red after using the PS3 system for 3 or more minutes and shuts off, the PS3 system has possibly overheated.

This may be caused by poor ventilation or the vents may be blocked.
If this happens:
· Check to see if the vents are blocked. If the vents are dusty, vacuum the vents to remove the dust.
· If the PS3 system is in an enclosed area like an entertainment area, move it to a more open area.
· Leave the ps3 system off for 30 minutes to let it cool down.
· If you continue to have issue, you may need to send the console in for service.

Flashing Green:

When the power status light flashed green, it means that the PS3 system is turning off. Please wait while the system turns off.

If the PS3 system does not shut down immediately, it may be trying to finish save data to the Hard Drive. If it is, do not turn the main power switch on the back off as it may cause data on your hard drive to be corrupted.

If the green light continues to flash green, the ps3 system maybe trying to write to the hard drive, shutting down or running programs. It may take longer to shut down depending on when you pressed the power button. If the green power light flashed for a very long time, you can try holding the power button down for 5 seconds, the console will beep and should turn off. Then try to restart the PS3 system.
Flashing Green, Yellow and Red:

When the power status light goes from green, to yellow, to green, then to a flashing red, this means that they may be an issue with an internal part with in the PS3 system. This may be caused by a variety of reasons and would need to be diagnosed by our support line.

When the PS3 power light flashes in this order, you can contact our Support Line for further assistance.

Solid Blue:

When the disk status light is remaining a solid blue, it means the disc is inside the PS3 system. If you wish to eject the disc, hold down the eject button for 2 seconds and the blue disc status light will flash indicating the PS3 system is attempting to eject the disc . (NB: the power indicator light will always be a solid green).

If the disc is inserted into the ps3 system, but does not show up on the xmb or will not play, this may indicate an issue with the reader- check our guide Discs are not loading in my PlayStation 3? for further troubleshooting.

Flashing Blue:

When the disc status light is flashing blue, it means a disc was just inserted into the ps3 system or a disc is trying to eject from the ps3 system. Depending on when you pressed the eject button, it may take longer for the disc to eject. (NB: the power light will always be a solid green)
If the light constantly flashes blue, it may be an issue with the disk being stuck in the system. If this happens there is no way to remove the disc yourself if you are using an orginal 60GB PlayStation.
