I am locked out of my admin mailbox on my nortel nt8b26aabl phone, when i use feature 983 and then password 102000, it says invalid password.???

To reset the administrator pasword enter feature 985 press 9, at the password prompt enter 73738767793 (resetsmpwsd) and press ok or #,press yes to reset password. password should be defaulted to 0000. then try Feature 983. if your system has 2 digit intercom #s your password is 120000 if your system has 3 digit intercom #s your password is 1020000.

I am locked out of my Nortel T7316E mailbox and am getting a "contact admin" message.

    So am i, i cant fix it at all?? its asking me for the admin password?? i didnt even know we had an admin password??

    I logged on yesterday morning and it came back to me and said I was locked out.

You would need to log in as the voicemail admin using "Feature 983" followed by 102 (if you have 3 digit extension numbers) then the voicemail admin password. From there you can select MBOX and reset the password to 0000 for the mailbox in question.

Hi Lyndsay,

Have you tried feature 985, and then press 9, and enter the passed resetsmppwd? That should reset the login on feature 983 to 1020000 for three digit extensions, or 102000 for two digit extensions. Once you get into there, you can reset the mailbox password for the general delivery mailbox. Depending on your system, even though the general delivery mailbox might be on extension 363, the mailbox number is likely to be 100.

My MBOX is locked on my T7316E Nortel phone. Also, trying to retrieve messages from home I somehow changed the password and I don't know what it is.
Feature 983 log in is 120000 (if 2 digit extension, 1020000 if 3 digit, 10020000 if 4 digit extensions)
Select Mbox, enter that locked extensions mail box number, You will see password RESET. Select RESET. Release out. This will reset that mail box password to 0000. Use feature 981 on that phone and enter the new default password of 0000. you will then be prompted to change the password.

Feature 985 will show you your mailbox extension

We have a Nortel Networks system T7316. One phone has the mailbox locked out and says contact admin. I have tried the 120000 code and it is invalid. What else can I try?

So in other words, try 1020000, 10020000, 120000

How do I reset a password on a Norstar Voice Mail mailbox?
Press Feature 983.
Enter the System Coordinator's Mailbox number (default is 12, 102, 1002, depending on length of extension numbers) followed by Password (default 0000).
Press MBOX.
Press CHNG.
Enter the mailbox number that is giving you troubles.
Press RESET. The password has been reset to default (0000).

Sounds like the admin password has been changed. You will have to go thru the vm admin password process to default it.

Try this: "Feature" 983, Enter 120000 or the system coordinator password, press "ok", press "mbx", press "chng", then enter the mail box number, press "reset", then release. The mail box password should default to "oooo"

Press OK

Now go back to Feature 983
Enter 120000 for 2-digit extensions, 1020000 for 3-digit or 10020000 for 4-digit
