About disk boot failure

Hi!

Disk boot failure means that your BIOS can't find the master boot record of your computer which resides in the hard disk or a floppy disk.

This indication means that your hard disk drive is not detected by your BIOS or their is no operating system installed with it.

Have a nice day!

MOTHERBOARD PROBLEM HELP....THIS IS MY 3RD POST ABOUT THE

You have a corrupted bios file or files. This is what the checksum means. You need to download the correct bios onto a floppy disk. That floppy disk needs to formatted as a system / startup disk BEFORE you copy the bios files to it. Then put the floppy into your floppy drive, turn the pc on and try to get into the bios screens. If the keyboard error is preventing this, go to the mainboard manufacturers website and check the correct manual for the board looking for the procedure to recover from a bios failure. If this board if no older then 5 yrs, it should have this feature. Follow the recovery procedure to rewrite your bios. When that is fixed, undertake the bios update procedure. ONLY do this if you fully understand and accept the risks otherwise, take it to your local professional. If your board does not have the recovery feature, replace it !!unless you are able to replace the CMOS chip with one which has the correct bios burnt onto it. As most modern boards have CMOS chips glued and soldered to the board, this may not be an option..If the bios chip is socketed, contact your local computer shop, or the boards manufacturer to request a replacement. Your issues all arise from your bios issues so fix that and all should be well..

Bios rom checksum error.. system halted

This error comes when there is low cmos voltage so motherboard flash memory forgot the bios settings.
For that open cpu and then pull cmos cell from mother board buy new cmos cell and replaced it.
Then when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios and set time and date and boot option in bios then save settings.
Then it works again if it not works then you need to update firmware for your bios .
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

BIOS CHECKSUM ERROR

Normally a bios checksum error is caused by a dead cmos battery. In a laptop that can be a pain - some are specialty batteries, some soldered directly to the motherboard, etc.

Start the laptop and enter the bois, there usually will be something to tell you what key to press, most of the time it is f2 or f10. Once in the bios set the date, time and boot order, then save and exit the bios. If it boots ok then try to determine what type of battery and it's location on the laptop to replace it.

If you let me know the make and model of laptop I will try to help determine that info and also where you can get the battery. That will more than likely be from eBay....

Hope this helps

Please help

Try pressing F2 / Del key during startup. That should bring the bios setup. Now Restore that defaults & install OS on your HDD. If you are not using Floppy drive, disable the onboard floppy controller from BIOS.
