Hello more than likely the lamp has gone bad. On that set you have to remove the back cover to check the lamp to see if it has broken. the picture gives you an idea and some instructions on how to change it. tks

Hi, Sounds like a bad color wheel. If you know what your doing you can get one on E-bay for around $170. In the past the whole light engine would need to be replaced $700 ish.

Its not going to be a do it yourself repair--likely a bad board or even boards--have a repair center (authorized for this brand) inspect it.

Just getting a set like this apart safely is tricky.

Hello,

When your television actually flashes the front blue light, it is passing a message that there is a problem inside the unit. There are 2 things you should check but my best bet is that it is the t-con board of the television that is bad. The other component you can check is the lamp, but if the lamp is faulty you will not be getting sound therefore the problem is from the t-con board.

It is located by the middle of the main panel of the television, once you get it replaced, the television will be in good shape.

Problem

power board is bad if it doesnt power up -- the red flashing lights mean that you need to upgrade the software-- you can get a new software upgrade on the website for philips --- use a thumb drive to install it into the television

I currently have this problem also. However my TV is blinking 6 times fast and then 5 times slowly. I was told by a TV repairman that it was in fact the bulb or lamp. I plan to replace it, soon, I will keep you posted hopfully it works.

i changed my bulb. will play for a while and go out but still have sound. brand new bulb.

I am having exact same issue...the contrast gets funky and then the screen seems to flicker is best way to describe it.

I have same issue. It will run for good hour or so then the contrast gets funny (peoples hair and heads look funny colorwise) then the screen has a slight flickering to it. I will shut it off and I cannot turn back on until bulb has totally cooled. Yes, Brand New Stinking Bulb.
