Miele are the only people that sell spare parts and the drip tray contacts aren't listed. You should always test contact components for continuity with a digital multimeter before replacing items on guesses.
To reset your Jura S8 coffee machine and remove the stuck drip tray, you can try the following steps:
Unplug the coffee machine and wait a few minutes for the internal components to cool down.
Gently try to wiggle the drip tray to see if you can loosen it from its stuck position. Be careful not to force it, as this could damage the coffee machine.
If the drip tray is still stuck, you can try resetting the coffee machine. To reset the machine, you will need to locate the reset button or switch. This may be located behind the water tank, under the machine, or in the control panel. Consult the owner's manual for the exact location of the reset button.
Once you have located the reset button, press and hold it for a few seconds until the machine resets. This may cause the drip tray to release and be able to be removed.

Hi
Dredge drawer is the big box on the bottom right. That is where the grounds are dumped. Remove the drip tray and pull the drawer out about half way. Push it back in with 1 finger on the right side of the drawer. That should clear the message. If it comes back on when you put in the drip tray, there is a section of the drip tray that can be removed to stop that. On the right side of the drip tray is a notch. Inside that notch is a thin piece of plastic. It curls up on the right side. Cut out the piece that curls up (just the piece that curls, about an inch). When you push in the drip tray that curl lifts the dredge drawer and knocks it out of position.
Hi Lift up on the front of the drip tray and pull out the front. There are 2 locking pins on the bottom of the drip tray that lock into the machine, that is why you lift up on the front of the drip tray before you pull out.
The dregs container comes out with the drip tray. Lift up on the drip tray and slide it out. If this doesn't work then the brew group is out of position. Turn the machine off then on so that the machine goes through a self test. This will reposition the group allowing removal of the dregs container.
The tray appears to have been inserted just slightly askew, causing the notch in the back of the tray to get hooked under that black bit. I was finally able to remove it by tilting the front upward and pulling out. I have reinserted the tray several times since and it pulled out as simply and smoothly as it usually does.
OK, so this is a problem with your brew unit. The unit is not cycling correctly to tell the water to come through.
We had another problem like this just this week.
The wat we fixed it was 1) Give the Brew Unit a really good clean. 2)Make sure the Brew Unit can complete a cycle - manually rotate the brew unit components through a cycle 3) Lubricate the Brew Units moving parts if necessary using some Saeco or Other Food Grade Lubricant
Then try watch a complete coffee cycle by leaving the side door of your machine open, and tricking the micro switches into thinking the door is closed by engaging them with some card or something similar.
Ran into this same problem this week - brew /infuser unit is stuck at the bottom of the machine and it doesn't seem to want to move. Cannont replace the drip tray/grounds catching container. After speaking with Sam a wonderful customer service rep at DeLonghi (866-528-8323) I learned the following that saved me from having to send the machine in for repair which could take 2-3 weeks.
Make sure that the machine is unplugged before attempting this repair process.
Open the front door of the machine so that you can see the brew unit.
Take the grounds catching container only (without the drip tray) and put it into position where it would normally be seated.
Carefully try closing the front door.
If the door will not close with the container in position, carefully reach under the door and apply gentle pressure to lift up on the container so that the door can then close.
Plug your brewing machine in. It should power on and then make an internal adjustment which will raise the brew/infuser unit up enough to then be able to once again replace the drip tray and grounds container back into position.
If it does not raise high enough, try unplugging the machine again, wait about 5 seconds and then repeat the same process just described.
Once you are able to replace the tray and container, power the machine on.
Have a cup ready to place under the dispenser as it will release water and coffee as it preps itself for operation again.
Hope this helps those of you who are experiencing this same scenario.
