Does not cleans dishes

The GE Potscrubber Dishwasher does not cleans dishes. After the dishwasher runs, the dishes have food still left on the dishes.

I can't use powder detergent, it doesn't dissolve.

I use a liquid detergent. Some dishes are clean and others aren't

This is no potscrubber.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please check the Water temperature by using a thermometer inside the dishwasher to measure the water temp. It should be as close to 125 degree F to 140 degree F as possible. Now try using the temperature boost feature if your dishwasher is equipped with this cycle feature and check if this will help your wash ability issues.

Now check the Powder soap by making sure that you store your soap in a dry environment and it is not stale and clumping together. Possibly try a different detergent like a liquid or gel. Also, make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.

To check the proper filling dishwasher will fill with water up to and around the heating element. If water is more below the heating element, you may have low water pressure or a problem with the fill valve. Try & listen if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure.

For low water pressure, try to clean the screen at the entrance of the fill valve, sometimes the fill valve can fail and not allow the proper water into the dishwasher and may need to be replaced. And, check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks. Also make sure that the water is draining and is not accumulated in the dishwasher, if it is in dishwasher then check for clogged drain hoses and drain pump.

Low water fills are a very common trouble maker with today's dishwasher.

Please do rate this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Don't be afraid now, but , what I'n going to tell you works VERY often. Pour two cups of bleach into the washer and let it run a potscrubber cycle. They do this all the time at restaraunts, yes really! Let me know how this turns out. P.S. leave the machine empty when you run it. Thanks, Dana

Water not coming into dishwasher

Without knowing the model number of your GE dishwasher, but some dishwashers don't notice when the float / float switch is stuck. That could cause the dish washer to move through all the cycles but never have water flow into the dishwasher. That would be the first place I would look. But please post back here with what you find (plus the model number of your dishwasher) before ou rate me level of helpfulness, OK?

Dishes not getting clean or drying completly

I would fill the dishwasher only half full of dishes that are well rinsed off, run the sink water til hot before turning on the dishwasher, use a good quality dishwasher soap or tablet, and make sure the dishwasher is set to a full length setting like potscrubber as opposed to rinse and hold.

Food Deposits left on dishes

I had an old machine with a similiar problem & I found that food had somehow entered into the arm that spins & sprays out water. The food blocked somewhat the holes which of course means less cleaning.

GE GSD2200G02CC dishwasher

Your dishwasher probably has rotating blades on the top and bottom that spray water on the dishes.  Clean these off and make sure the holes are not clogged.
