Schwinn 418 Computer does not come on.

Schwinn 418 does not power up. Batteries are new and read 6 volts at contacts in the computer. How can I test if it is the computer? I disconnected the computer and see the test button. I pressed it and get nothing.

The power supply for my Sangean PR-D5 stopped working. Could this be a bad contact? Is it fixable? Do I need to order a new AC/DC adaptor?

Hi,

Please first test your adaptor across multiple outlets to see if it charges correctly. If not, please test another compatible adaptor with your device to rule out any issue with your device. If neither the adaptor works nor the computer fails, then you can order a new adaptor in order to move forward.

Thank you.

What is the output voltage, amperage, watts and polarity for Schwinn 203 recumbent bike? I have a pile of transformers and don't know which one my mother-in-law used. Thanks for all replies.

If the recumbent digital computer gives you an option of power supply or batteries then you can deduce voltage of the power supply by counting the number of batteries needed times 1.5 (1.5 volts = voltage of AA or AAA battery).
You can deduce typical current by multiplying the number of batteries by: AA = .05 amps or AAA = .01 amps.
Your next issue will be to deduce the polarity. Look at the Schwinn to look for a symbol that will show you polarity. Typically the center of the plug is: + positive and the outer shell is - negative. There are instances where those two are reversed.
If this is all too confusing then Google the recumbent model number to find replacement power supplies ($35 to $45 US).

Schwinn scooter has new batteries. When plugged in light is green and motor will go. When we unplug, light goes off and no power. Any suggestions? Thx

hi , Sounds like the connection from the batteries to the controller is faulty , the controller is being powered by the charger( repeated use of this will damage the controller & charger so be warned )... check the battery input to the controller has a voltage, you will need a meter , smart meter , anything that gives a volts reading ...

My Schwinn 420 elliptical is not powering on. The breaker and outlet source are fine. When I plug the machine in nothing powers on. The console displays nothing, no lights, etc.

test the power cord plug, in another device and see if working

2) replace batteries if your system has( clean the contacts from oxide, corrosion with contacts cleaner) and try again when you have isolated the problem

God bless you

Error: tone when changing schwinn airdyne computer battery?

There could be a few reasons why you are hearing an error tone when replacing the batteries in your Schwinn Airdyne computer. Here are a few possibilities:
  1. The batteries may not be properly seated in the compartment. Make sure that the positive and negative terminals are facing the correct direction and that the batteries are fully seated in the compartment.
  2. The batteries may be dead or low on charge. If the batteries are old or have not been used for a long time, they may not have enough charge to power the computer. Try replacing the batteries with new ones to see if that resolves the issue.
  3. The computer may be damaged. If the error tone persists even after replacing the batteries with new ones, there may be an issue with the computer itself. In this case, it may be necessary to have the computer professionally repaired or replaced.
It's also worth noting that some models of the Schwinn Airdyne may have a "low battery" warning feature that sounds an alarm when the batteries are running low. In this case, the error tone may be a normal part of the bike's operation and not necessarily indicative of a problem.
I hope this information is helpful. Let me know if you have any further questions or need more assistance.

Computer on my Schwinn Eliptical 418/428 keeps giving me an Error 1- Any ideas what this means.

jlo621-

An "Error 1" message is a generic electrical error code. This error code usually means one of several things: 1) the AC adapter needs replacing, 2) the wires connecting the power to the console need replacing, or 3) the console itself needs replacing. If the console has batteries, start by changing those. If this does not solve the problem, then check the AC adapter. If the problem persists, you're looking at a problem that might warrant the attention of a repair technician.

Hope this helps.

The computer on my schwin 418 eliptical does not work. Is there something I can do to fix it myself? Where can I get it serviced?

Call Schwinn customer service (actually Nautilus) at 1-800-nautilus if it is broken so you can order a new one or they will send you a new one if you are under warranty. They are very helpful. You can also check the power connection on the bottom or make sure the wire harness in the main pipe in the center is properly connected if the system is brand new and not working.

Ups only puts out 80 volts when power disconnects

These type of UPS's put out a simulated sine wave on battery power. When you test these with a regular voltmeter, it tries to read it as a pure "rounded" sinewave and will nearly always report 80 volts, instead of 120 volts. If you test it with a true RMS voltmeter you'll see that it is 120. Otherwise, these units are getting older and the batteries need to be replaced every 3-4 years.
