Kenwood UD-203 Hi Fi system, cd player will not see discs.

I have a Kenwood UD-203 Hi Fi system which has a 3 disc rotary cd player in it. When I try to play a cd, the table revolves but then a message comes up saying "No cd disc". I have cleaned the optical pick up with IPA but the fault is still there. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Check your RCA cables to make sure that they are not dirty, tarnished or not completely plugged in. Also, try switching to different (working!) RCA cables to see if that fixes the noise problem. Good luck!

Kenwood CD-203 5-Disc CD Changer will not play CDs. It powers up and recognizes a CD within the slot, but it does not read the disc to begin playing.

The laser might be the culpert, be sure its clean by using a swab and a alcohol. If the laser is needed
it could cost approx $75 unless their using a Sony
which might be cheaper!

hello,
it is either the lense of the hi fi system that may be faulty, therefore, if that is the case you take it back to the dealer that sold it to you.

or probably the disc is not compatible with the HI-FI system.

Kenwood UD-301 system. CD player does not read disc. Reports ''no disc' therefore unable to run cleaner.

Have decided it's not worth spending any more money on. Will discard and buy a new one.

what did u mean by cd's jumping... is it physically jumping.. or is it skipping ...?
Mostly it wud be the wear and tear of the rubber inside.. rubber inside in the sense the motor's belt..

Dismantle unit and try to open unit look to see if a motor is running maybe it is being droven by a belt or a gear is worn the belt may drop inside the unit. If the belt is worn change it.
