I'm no expert but I have the same tv I'm trying to fix, different problem from yours.I think you can take a resistance reading from that pin to ground and if there is a short, you can start unplugging different boards and when you have the right one the short will go away,if not its the power supply.Put in a search on google with something like board layout for TH-42PZ80U and click on the link 11th generation and you can tell if I told you right or not
hi,
In your tv there some problem with power supply. you have to check the followin voltages. Sub 5v SOS ,Main 3.3v SOS A-Board,DTV 9v SOS , Tuner Power SOS. If any one of the voltage fails it will shows 10 blinks.
ok
Apparently this common problem is due to a faulty power board. Contact Panasonic for a replacement if it's under warranty (hopefully) or a local repair shop. Good luck!
Generally a two blink code means a faulty power supply. You can buy a replacement power supply online. I've seen them as low as around $120. I'm doing factual research for a potential class action lawsuit regarding these blinking light problems, so I'm pretty familiar with this stuff now. From most of the complaints I've seen people post, if you have a tech replace the power supply it usually costs between $450-$600 including the tech's labor time.
I'd like to hear more about your personal experience with the television. If you would be willing to share your story with me, please send me an email at [email protected].
Panasonic said "A" board, A board SOS Detect (Explanation) 10 Blinks SOS: The voltage regulators IC5400 and IC5401 in the A board generate SUB9V and SUB5V. The 9V and 5V from these ICs are monitored by IC1100. Any abnormality on the SUB9V or SUB5V lines, triggers the shutdown circuit and the MPU shuts down the unit. The power LED blinks 10 times. But need to measure the connection SC2, if it short, it will be the SC board. The knowledge obtain from: Real case of repair by myself. Information from Panasonic training manual.
