There can be several causes for this, few of which you can do anything about. However, a few things to try:

1) Replace the batteries on your remote control.
2) Try resetting the logic functions on your tv by unplugging it for a minute, then plugging it back in.
3) Try covering up the infra-red receptor on the front of your TV to see if you're getting unwanted signals from the receptor. taping a piece of foil over that area is perfect. If it doesn't stop after doing these two things you'll probably need to take it to a shop.
4) If this does stop it, then look for unexpected signal sources. Have you added a remote control extender? Added a new device to your audio-video system? Changed to a new remote?

I hope this helps. Joe

After turning off do the LEDs on the front panel blink on and off?
If so, you may have an issue with the lamp. Probably needs replaced or repaired.

Lamp could still be going out they only last for 5,000 hrs some 8,000 playing hours.
Check the Lamp Fan if it stops running when Lamp turns on set will turn OFF.
But if you have never replaced Lamp Problem will be the Lamp Mats Has them for $99.00

SAMSUNG DLP SLIM 50" AFTER I TURN IT OFF IT WONT TURN BACK ON TILL 30 TO 50 MINS LATER THE THREE LIGHTS IN THE FRONT BLINK. iT ACTS LIKE ITS GONA TURN ON BUT IT DOESNT IT JUST MAKES THE NOISE AND FLASHING...

Chris,

I had the same problem. I bought my tv at Best Buy and my warranty included a new bulb for the lamp. They only last about 2 yrs or so depending on how much you watch the tv. You can also buy replacement bulbs online that don't cost too much. BUT, you will need to replace every couple of years. The things you listed are exactly what happens when the bulb goes out. Hope this helps!

We have a Samsung DLP 69'' TV and as above, it keeps shutting off. We just replaced the lamp, which did not fix the problem. It will go on for a minute or two, then the TV shuts off and all three lights...

Previous answers are wrong unfortunately. And I'm sorry you've spent the kind of money you have to fix it. Its actually a very basic, tiny, annoying cause. So much so you'll be quite angry when you hear it: When you open the lamp door on the back of the TV, youll see a small toggle type switch that gets pushed in when the door gets re-installed and allows the TV to turn on. This is to make the power shut off in case someone tries to access the lamp with the set on. If memory serves, the toggle on my 50" samsung was blue I think. You can use duct tape or something but I actually used a very small zip tie to hold the toggle in place for a neater, less ghetto-fabulous fix. NEVER had it shut off by itself since.

My Samsung 50" DLP HDTV keeps humming when the DLP lamp comes on.

Hi, you have one of two problems, either the color wheel is going or one of the cooling fans are going, the color wheels are a very common problem in samsung dlp`s, sorry I can`t nail it to a specific part but I`d bet it`s the color wheel as they are notorious for failing in samsungs, video-tek
