I need to know how to adjust the screen brightness on my toshiba satellite A105-S4014 laptop. There is no option to adjust it in the control panel, and the keyboard command, Fn + F6 dosen't have any effect. Is there another way?

For vista windows do these easy steps: 1) Start 2) Controll panel. " on right " 3) Personalization. " You should have it " 4) On the left top of this screen you might press on " Connect to a projector or other external display " 5) ajust the britness and any other options as you like. Tell me if that was helpful.

Satellite A105-S4014 -- blue light above power switch not coming on after Windows 7 installed. Coincidence?

Sherry:

Toshiba has provided specific information on how to upgrade your model of laptop to Windows 7 here (click here).

Apparently it is not a matter of just following the basic Windows 7 instructions and they have provided software to assist with the upgrade.

If the drivers aren't loaded, it won't work properly.
Please check your model number as I cannot find it on Toshiba's database.

Laptop screen produces image, but there is no illumination

Hello

The screen brightness may be too low. That may happen in certain power regimes ( when used on battery power, presentation, etc.)

Here is how to change screen brightness on a Toshiba satellite that has the Toshiba Power saver software installed

Go to the Control panel, Click Toshiba Power Saver ( icon has two hands praying?) and increase the screen brightness. in each of the different regimes provided : Full power, High Power, Normal, DVD Playback and so on.

Hope it restores your computer screen to light.

Once finished, press the apply button

Dull picture on laptop but cursor is still bright

The screen brightness is automatically adjusted by your laptop's Power Management configuration in the Control Panel. Depending on your laptop's brand you might not only have the Windows power management, but also a proprietary power management application within the control panel or in your Start Menu programs usually listed under your computer's brand name. For example a program folder called "Toshiba" under Programs for a Toshiba laptop. Anyway, I would start there. Usually you can set up the screen brightness according to whether or your computer is plugged in or working on battery. Good luck! :)

Hi, I need some help (BIOS locked)...

ok i found a couple more things...apparently you dont have to remove the battery.. I found this site that tells you two "jumpers" (solder squares) C88 i believe under the network card. But if you follow this link and follow the directions it will get you going again.

I don't know exactly at what stage you are at and i hope i didn't cause any trouble but this normally is how we take care of this problem. Unless once in a blue moon we come across one like this.

The brightness level

You need to use the Toshiba "Power Saver" console. Go to Control Panel -> TOSHIBA power saver. Click the Icon and use the console to adjust the brightness for the various power schemes. If you don't see the TOSHIBA power saver icon, go to Go to Control Panel ->Power Options and open that console. Select "TOSHIBA Power Saver" option in the "Power schemes" dialog box. If you don't have that option in the dialog box, you need to go to the Toshiba site and download the Power Saver installation file and reinstall it.
