There is an application called Txtract for your phone that can find deleted text messages. Goto goole and do a search for this application for your phone model.
There are a few ways you can get your pictures from your G1 phone to your computer.
You will first need to long press on the picture message link in your text message. Select save to SD card. Do this for each one you want.
The first would be to simply connect your USB cable to your phone and then to your computer. You will get a message on your phone that it is connected to usb. pull down the notification bar and select usb notification and select mount. (I think that's what it say's (Thats what your doing anyway.)!). you should then get a message on your computer that gives you opions. you can open up the folder and drag and drop the pictures were you want them on your hard drive or copy them and paste them were you want them. If you have or if you download and install a great application called Google Picasa3 you will also have the option to import them to your computer. The nice option of using Picasa is the fact that it will only import the new pictures that you have not already imported and it is also a great program for viewing pictures and making modifications (adding text, taking out red eye and such).
i had this same problem with my G1. If you already pressed "download" and its forever downloading or getting that red triangle, try turning off your phone for about 5 mins and try to redownload the picture
it will be your configeration settings, ring vodafone and they will sort it out, i had the same thing on my fone, vodafone fone with tmobile sim in it, they just sent a text with all the settings, u install that and it works fine x
Try downloading Txtract from the G1 Market. It's listed under "tools". Use this application to save the text messages you've been hoarding to your SD card, then delete the text messages from your phone. Your G1 will work like new again!
