My net is airtel broadband but it connected through liksys router

please can you help me? I've a cisco Liksys E1000, and I try to connect it with a wifi cordles voip Samsung wip 6000M, I'm not able. How can i do? My router can speak with wifi cordless? I read in internet several informations about configurations but my samsung wip 6000M tell me no connect or shows router name but with a red signal, and I dont hearn any signal,exuse for my english tanks Luisa

Try: Clarify - the desktop is connected with an ether net cable? Is working? Install router software on desktop to manage router. Trying to connect desktop wirelessly? Wireless card installed? Radio activated? Network detected?

This sounds like the router does not have DNS settings.

Check the web configuration to make sure that the DNS settings are valid. If there are DNS servers in there, try changing them to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and see if you still get the same problem.

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router
is there any computer connected to the router ?
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
Router set up page is the page where you can check all the wireless settings of the router.

If I were setting this up for myself or a customer, I'd keep the Airtel IP's and let it be the DHCP server. To do this, you pick a fixed IP address for the Belkin, something like 192.168.1.251. Log into the Belkin and change the LAN IP address to that and turn off DHCP. Those instructions start on pdf page 34.

Now, plug one of the 4 ports into the Airtel, and from a computer connected to the network type in 192.168.1.251 in Internet Explorer. It should get you to the Belkin where you finish setting it up for wireless security and password from page 38.

You won't use the WAN port.

Make sure you can go online directly to the airtel broadband. If internet works fine, connect the D-Link router to the Beetle. That should be going to the Internet port or WAN port of the D-link. Then your PC to port 1. Try to power cycle both devices now. Unplug the power to the router first then to the modem. Wait for 30 seconds. Power on modem first, wait for the lights to go solid, then power on the router. Check if the internet works fine hardwired. If it is, wireless should work as well. Just connect to the signal coming from the D-link.

You need to contact your ISP if the internet connection is not there....
