Okay.

You do set this up like a regular CB. The meters refers to how long the waves are. CB is 11 meters. So its very close. The antenna woud be tuneds slightly shorter. Use the SWR meter in the radio to calibrate just like you would a normal cb.

Now for the ABCDEF knob. each letter is 40 channels in the band. So A would be 1 - 40 channels, then B would be the next 1 - 40 channel frequencies. You use the frequency counter in the radio(providing that model has one) to tell what channel you are on.

Here is some info one the frequencies in the band.

Now for AM and FM. this is the type of modulation you are using for transmit and receive.

CB transmits on AM or SSB. Amplitude modulation or Single side band. Most CB radios only have AM. But some also have SSB. None will have FM.

FM is frequency modulation.

10 meter radios can have AM FM SSB and DSB depending on the model and options it comes with.

So your radio has 6 ranges for freqency. each is 40 or 50 channesl. Not sure what model you have. If it has 40 then you have 240 channel freqencies.

with AM and FM, you double that, because you can talk on AM or FM on all the channels. If you are on AM and some one transmits on FM unless they are really close, you will not hear them at all, but if you do with will just be garbbled noise.

Also Am and FM both work a little different with range etc.

Now, you may be able to talk on the CB channels as well. Cb starts at 26.965 MHz and ends at 27.405 MHz. The channels are all .010 MHz appart.

Hope this helps

Fm adjustmet for the galaxy dx 29hp

Do you mean the FM Deviation or Detector Adjustment? I haven't found a schematic on the DX29HP yet but it may be the same as the DX33. NO GAURANTEE! The DX 33 has VR5 as the FM Deviation. You'll want to borrow or buy an FM Deviation Meter to adjust that. The FM Detector is L5. You'll need to Connect an AF VTVM or scope to IC2 Pin 7. In FM, Set FM RF Generator to 26.965 MHz (CB Channel 1) and at a level of .5uV deviated 3 KHz with 1KHz audio tone.
Reduce the volume as you need to. AGAIN!!! THE DX29HP MAY NOT BE ANYTHING LIKE THE DX33. If you are not sure, please pay someone to make the adjustments for you. It's a pretty nice little rig.

Midland 75 785 purchase from us will it work on uk channels

  • For 11 meter (CB) the standard 40 channels will be the exactly same as the "EU" set of frequencies (channels). However the "UK" 11 meter (40 channels) and the U.S.A. 40 11 meter (40channels CB) will not work together at all. This includes any actual Citizen Band radio, excluding Export 10 an 12 meter radios often labeled as "CB'S" which they are not.

  • Hope this helps.

Hello,
I would recommend not doing anything and contacting Copper Electronics and have them arrange to have it shipped for a warranty repair. If you so much as open that radio they may decline the free repair you are entitled too. Copper Electronics are good folks. I do plenty of business with them. Contact them and tell them your issue and inform them the radio is only two days old and they will take care or you. For this radio they offer an alignment and tune for a small fee. Did they perform this on your radio before they shipped it? It would seem that something may be wrong with the PLL. Just to be sure make sure the power supply is sufficient and you have an SWR/Watt meter in line to make sure your radio does not suffer heat damage.

Tony

RCI-2980 NO MODULATION

Microphones are the most handled object with a CB radio and this is where it is most likely to find the problems. Basically a Galaxy radio in a base station box, and 3 out of ten develop problems, mostly power supply problems.
I would suspect the mic first. Best way is to use a different mic and see if the problem goes away. Next try the radio on an external DC supply or battery. Let me know what happens from there..... [email protected]

OK I remember a similar problem with a connex radio. It seems the driver's fm radio speakers where picking up some signal even with the fm radio off. Shortening the speaker wires helped some, also make sure you don't have any wire or coax coiled up anywhere. Thats about all I remember, hope this helps.

Information on how to use DX 45MP radio

The DX 45mp is a 10 meter radio meaning you need a license to use any other band other than the normal 1- 40 cb channels, its capable of going beyond the normal cb range.Ask if it has been converted to 11 meter. Channel E should be the normal if it has been converted from 10 meter to 11 meter. Im sure its been converted if its been used for a mobile cb application. Normal cb band is called 11 meter 26.965 mhz to 27.405 thats 1- 40 . Your not supposed to talk on the other bands unless you have an amature radio license but everyone does anyway . I have several galaxys and by far in my opinion are the best on the market. Go to www.cbtricks.com on the home page go to Radio Informaion click it go to G and follow it to Galaxy DX radios youll find all the info for this radio you can even print out the channel chart to see where everything is. Good luck and if you have any more questions just ask. Thank you Chia

10 meter portable

There is no factory made 10 meter CB Radio made for US use. CB Radios use 11 meters, and the FCC doesn't allow the combination of 10 and 11 meter radios combines. Although, many people modify 10 meter radios to work on the 11 meter ( CB ) band, it's not legal. Good Luck
