1. Does it pump paint in PRIME position. If yes, then the outlet valve assembly may be stuck or bad.
2. If it won't pump paint in the PRIME position, the inlet valve may be stuck, just poke your finger down the inlet hole (machine off) . It is spring loaded and should move about an 1/8".
3. The worst option is the pump piston if froze. To check: remove the plastic hopper assembly, comes off with about 4 screws from underneath. The whole thing just pulls off. Now you can see the inlet assembly with two O rings. Use the white plastic hex shaped tool comes with the spray, and stuck on the lower base of the unit. Unscrew the inlet assembly. If clean enough, you can see the end of the piston. It's about a 1/4" diameter. Turn the machine on for a moment and you shoud see the piston move back on forth. If it doesn't the piston is froze. Good Luck with that.
Thanks for your post, I found that my piston was frozen, what a pain, I took the pump face off of the motor slid the plastic pivot/ spring off, used a screwdriver and a hammer to force the piston back little by little from the top again also using a half a can of WD40 and then took the back of a hammer and placed the fork under the piston rear slot and tapped w/ another hammer... it finally backed out, of course I was covered w/ WD40- I then took the piston to my grinder and polished the hell out of it / and also put pieces of a rag and wrapped around the end of a long reversed srewdriver bit in a drill and polished the inside of the brass sleeve for the piston. after re-assembly, the unit ran like a champ.-whew!
thanks for your post. I did notice when I removed the hose from the outlet valve, when I had it on prime it would shoot water through the hose and also from the outlet valve. I did notice that the piston was moving back and forth. For me it seems like I need to buy and outlet valve assembly.
