The directory is like a "table of contents" in a printed textbook.

If a child's crayons have been used to overwrite those pages, making them unreadable, then the table of contents cannot be used to locate the starting page-number of a specific chapter. So, one must read through the whole textbook, page-by-page, looking & trying to recognize the start of a chapter, and then the end of the chapter.

Similarly, there exist "file-recovery" computer software programs that do such "linear" reading of the entire ZIP disk, and trying to reconstruct the "file-structure" that was recorded in the "disk-directory".

Search for "file scavenger" software, and give it a try.

I connect my apello m300 to laptop.but show this error in that time."The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" why show this messege

Compare the "corrupted message" to a child with a pen writing all over the "table of contents" of a book. Some of the entries in that table of contents have become unreadable.

So, the "logical-integrity" of the disk-drive has been compromised, either by a software error (Windows writing files to the wrong place on the disk-drive) or by a hardware (Windows tried to write files to the correct place, but that part of the disk-drive cannot reliably be accurately recorded).

When I insert usb flash it says: I:/ is not accessible. the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.what can i do? i really need the information on my flash.

I understand that the information in the thumb drive is important to you. You can try using different ports in your computer. If not, try a different computer.

If all else fails, you may want to download 3rd party softwares that can help to retrieve information from corrupted sources. However, do this at your own risk as the information may be irretrievable.

Edge diskgo

Perhaps if the HDD has not been damaged. HDD's can be very delicate , external HDD's can get bumped about at times, rendering them useless. Remove the HDD from the case, using a USB to IDE/SATA Adapter ,or, a computer shop, try to test/read the disk. It can be read, but I'm not sure you want to pay the price it may cost. It can be quite expensive, and requires specialized equipment.

Western Digital External USB 3.0 1 TB Hard Drive: The disk is inaccessible. The file structure is corrupted and unreadable

There is companies that make data recovery, you could try them, there is also some for private use, but they are not that good. But those companies will pay a lot, if you have a good home insurance you could try them to pay recovery.

Depends how much you appreciate the information on hard disk.
