We have a Toshiba estudio 160 which has come up with the message "call for service" with no other error code, how can I reset and run as we are working in a remote area

When the message call for service is displayed press the C key and the 8 key at the same time an alpha numeric code will appear eg: C47 etc Post the error code and I'll tell you what it means

In the interim you may try the following one time to see if it is a false error... Hold "0" and "8" while turning on machine.....continue holding until machine enters service mode. Enter "400" press enter. Enter "0" press enter. Power off / on. If code returns, machine needs parts replaced. Error Code C44 has to do with the fuser section of the copier - probably not warming up fast enough and got tripped. There is a reset function for this but it's done by the technicians, not users. Once reset it should be OK but you need to make sure that this copier has in-line surge protection as spike in the line can cause simialr problems in most copiers.
