Nortel T7316E Call Forwarding - Outside Line

Trying to set call-forwarding to an outside line on a Nortel T7316E for evenings/weekends and when the secretary is out of the office. I put in the command [Feature] 4 and it asks for the number to be forwarded to, but it only lets me put in 2 digits then it says it's set. We get a direct outside line, don't have to dial 9 or anything first and our service provider says we have call forwarding on our account. The service provider says the call forwarding command is *72 but that does nothing on this phone. How can I make this work?

The Nortel call forwarding (feature 4) is for forwarding the ringing and intercom from one extension to another.ex. if you were going to be working in the conference rm. instead of at your desk, with the forward on to the conference rm. extension, the calls you get at your desk will transfer to the conference rm. phone. Call forwarding through your service provider is done by accessing the telephone line you wish to forward, dial *72 (you should get dialtone reordered)and dial the telephone number to where you want the calls to be forwarded to. the party on where your forwarding the line to has to answer the line for the forward to take place. to remove call forwarding , access the line you have the forward on and dial * 73, you should recieve a stuttered dialtone for confirmation that the service is off

You want to use Feature + 84, Call Redirect. Your phone has to have those privileges, so check with your phone administrator. You Need to have two lines setup on your set, one to forward, and one to call out from to the external line you are forwarding to.

T7316 phone does not cancel call forwarding

#73 is a a feature you use on a telephone line to cancel call forwarding (cfw) of an outside call (some codes may differ). You need to have the dial tone of that outside line to cancel the cfw. to cancel the cfw of a norstar set (internal calls to extension) just press the cfw key or press 'feature #4'

How do I program the line redirection feature

If you switched phone companies and the feature stopped working you probably had Call Forward Busy/No Answer from AT&T. If you use the call forwarding in the phone it will use two phone lines for the entire length of the call. Call Comcast and have them add Call Forward Busy/No Answer and tell them the number you would like your calls forwarded to and the ring cycle (the number of rings on no answer).

Nortel phone m3904 won't forward to an outside line

The DN may not be configured to allow forwarding to an outside line for security reasons. I think the default is 4 digits. You will need to talk to whomever programs your switch and ask them to allow this feature.

Sound issues with Forwarded calls to cell

Are you using a PRI, or POTS lines?

Probably pots lines, as this is a common occurance when forwarding out over pots lines.

Basically you are doing an unsupervised conference call when you forward to cell.

To prove the lines in the office are the problem, set up a conference call. If the 2 remote people can not hear each other the same as you describe in your forwarding, then it is the POTS lines.

The problem is, no one is going to be able to do anything about it. If this is an important feature, then you may want to look at a new system that can have different line types and then this isnt a problem.

Call forwarding to outside line

To send a call to another telephone within your system, or to an external
telephone. You may not be able to transfer a call on an external line
to an external telephone, depending on the capabilities of the lines.
1. Make or answer a call.
2. Press the feature button then press 70.
3. Call the person you want to transfer the call to.
4. Stay on the line if you wish to speak to the person first.
5. Press the Release button to complete the transfer.
If an external call is transferred to a busy internal or network
extension, or is not answered after a few rings, the call automatically
rings you back.
