Ok if you log into the router you can make adjustments in there. If you're unsure of it's IP address then you can find it by going to start then to run. A box should appear where you type in cmd Once you press enter on your keyboard after typing that you should see DOS appear, Black backround with white text. Once you're in there type this as you see it ipconfig then press enter on your keyboard. You should see an IP address next to default gateway. Grab a pen and write those numbers down. It may even be 192.168.0.1 Once you've written down those numbers type in exit in that same box and it should disappear. Those numbers that you wrote down should then be typed into the address bar once you open up your browser. This should take you to your router. If it asks for a password and user name, you should type in the username bit admin and the password will be either admin, password or there won't be a password so you'd leave that bit blank and then press enter on your keyboard. If none of these work then you'll have to reset the router by holding in the reset button at the back of the router for about 30 seconds. This should take it back to the factory default settings. Once you've done that turn off the router for about 10 seconds and turn it back on. Once you've done that then retype that IP address that you wrote down earlier. The reset may have reset the IP address so you may have to go back to start and do the cmd thing again and the ipconfig thing in DOS again. If the router IP address has changed then you'll see it next to the default gateway text. Then do the 192.whatever in the address bar once you've opened up your browser. Then type in admin in the username bit and either password, admin or leave it blank. Then you can reconfgure your router in the basic setup. Once you've done that, click on the word wireless and put the dot in the wpa psk section. That way you can type your own password in there but it must consist of 8 characters or more. Also make sure that you have your router set to either g or b or both so that if you add a wireless g card to another computer on your network if you have one as the cards also come in wireless b. Once you apply or save your settings, the router should restart or acknowledge the settings. Then go back to your laptop and change the password when the wireless signal has been recognised and put in the new password you created. I hope this sorts out your problem for you.

Conect my tablet to my wi fi

Network Key (WEP, WPA, WPA2 Encryption key) To connect your computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh network list, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connect to your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is configured in the Wireless settings in the Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.

I own a belkin n150 router. i've used ti on my laptop and now i bought a another computer and it won't let me access my router. it is asking for a security key. any idea how to access it or find it?

Your wireless card in her laptop needs to be configured with the router's wireless settings eg. the SSID and encryption key
The encryption key (security key) is in your wireless router, without this key the wireless router won't allow the laptop to connect to this wireless router.
The WEP, WPA, WPA2 encryption key is in your router's wireless settings. Log into your router and got to the wireless settings, you will need to get the SSID and the encryption key. Then go to your laptop's wireless card and configure it with the router's SSID and encryption key, so it will then connect to the wireless router and the Internet.

3 search for your wireless router with the laptop.
4. if it finds it click conect.
5. if it ask for a wep key you must then find this on a computer conected to the wireless modem. it will be inside the modem configuration page.
6 enter key and press conect.

How do I put security on my Belkin 54g router

You set your security by enabling WEP.

When you get in the interface to configure WEP, set a pass phrase. Write down the 3 numeric keys it generates. Then connect to the wireless using your laptop, etc. When it asks for your passkey, do not enter the pass-phrase; enter one of the three keys that were generated by the router. That's the biggest mistake people make when trying to get wireless to work.
