Check along the back and sides of the freezer for any vent-like openings that are covered or blocked by packages. There may be a sensor that's not getting air flow as it should. Although most upright freezers are now frost free, there still can be ice buildup in critical areas such as the thermal sensor or the fan. Can you tell if the fan is running?
Even if the compressor has failed, your frozen items will keep the temp down for several days. I suggest you move the frozen goods to a neighbor immediately. Meat or fish in particular quickly becomes unsafe to eat without at least refrigeration.
Is the compressor running? if it is running, but there is no cooling, it is time to buy a new freezer.
If the compressor is NOT running, I would suspect the compressor start relay.
How did you defrost it?
Is the red light flashing if so count the #of flashes it shows consecutively.then Google that #of flashes on that model you will get your answers. If just solid red you may have an issue in the board or compressor
Sorry to say that this happens a lot. More then likely there is a refrigerant leak and the place you bought it from had it charged right before you saw it. That is why it worked then, but not when you reached your destination.
Turn the second knob at the top to off (freezer knob) turn the fridge freezer off. Then turn it back on. That may sort it. Or you may need to totally defrost the machine as there could be some ice blocking some vents. May need to remove the back panel of the freezer for this (inside).
the flashing red light indicates a cooling problem, you should call honest local appliance repair shop(not sears they rob you blind)one other thing to try is to unplug for 5 minutes then plug back in and see if it reset sets itself, could be just a board reset issue, let me know-mike
