Have a Nortel Call Pilot connected to Norstar MICS 7.1 Incoming and outgoing using PRI Each phone has DID, mailboxes are setup with greetings recorded. When DID is called RNA after 4 and auto attendant company greeting answers instead of users mailbox. How do I get the mailbox to answer DID calls?

The greeting is from the voice mail not your phone.
Logging In To a Mailbox From Your Own Extension
1 - Feature 981
2 - Pswd: Dial 4-digit password (default is 0000)
Follow prompts to change your greeting. They are: ADMIN, then GREET and then RECORD.

When done hang up or push RLS. I have installed several of these systems.

Are You using a Startalk180 or Norstar Call Pilot 100?
To Change Passwords you will need to go into Admin Programming in the Startalk or Call Pilot.

Sounds like its trying to use the default greeting using you name from the company directory. I would verify that the mailbox greeting is in place (f981>admin>greet>rec>prime>).

Depending on the type of voicemail you have It can be accomplished by calling in to the office and when the main greeting starts playing press **, the administrator mailbox number, the password and the pound key (default is 1020000). Once in the mailbox press either 9 or 99 at this point you can re record the main greeting.

To access your voice mail remotely, call into the voicemail and wiat for either the main greeting or your mailbox greeting to answer the line, press ** followed by your mailbox number password and then the # key (ex. **2251234#).

Dial "Feature 981" & enter your password to open your mailbox. Once you open the mailbox, you can follow the audible prompts (listed below). It's best to read from a written script. Just remember to smile - your callers will hear it in your voice.

To record an outgoing message:
1. Press "Admin" or dial 8.
2. Press "Greet" or dial 2.
3. Press "REC" or dial 1.
4. To record your primary greeting, press "PRIME" or dial 1; to record your alternate greeting, press "ALT" or dial 2; to record your personal greeting, press "PERS" or dial 3.

Changing a mailbox from a subscriber mailbox to an information mailbox would require you to delete one in favor of the other but, if you want to temporarily disable the message taking ability you could login to the mailbox, press the admin key, press the greeting key, press the choose key, select alternate greeting, when you choose your alternate greeting mailbox youll be asked if your mailbox should accept messages press the chng key to toggle from yes to no. dont forget to record a alternate greeting for the mailbox.

You have to setup the mailboxes and initialize them all before it will work properly.
