I have a kxtd824 with a tvs50 voicemail. When in day mode, the trunks flash, but do not ring on ext 101. DIL day is set to 101 and lines on 101 are set to immediate ring.

DIL? It's a term not used in an 824. Incoming ringing is controlled via MC 3.2 or programs 408 and 411 for DAY ringing. Ring delay (411) could alter the ringing even if it's set to ring in 408.

If others have voicemail on their phones then you know your system has a VM circuit card. To activate your voicemail you have to go to the individual who has admin rights to the voicemail. When they log in to their voicemail, they have manager options to reset passwords, activate or delete mailboxes, re-record the main greeting for your business, ect. Hopefully they keep a notebook with this info 'cause no one ever remembers all the steps. Also, make sure your ext is forward-no-answer to voicemail or it'll still just ring and ring. Usual code for FwdNA is 43, and 44 to cancel. Usual ext for voicemail is 200 or 300.

Take a look at the manual. One of the bits in programming deals with the status of the FWD/DND button. You can make it light solid for FWD and flash for DND. There are other ways to intercept the calls, but trust me, this is the cleanest. You set 7104 165 # and it will forward always on no answer after x rings. Those rings are set system wide and can be adjusted in programming.
If you sit down wiht the PG manual, pay attentiion to programs 202,203,619 and 990 area 9 bits 3&4. A ring cycle is about 6 seconds and the default intercept is TWELVE rings....you should adjust that to no more that 4.
Fress F985 u will get voicemail DN. Note down ur voice mail DN. Go to programming of Norstar which will be F**266344 password will be 266344. Dispaly shows u terminal and extensions. press show then next display will show u capabilities. Press show then next display will show u FWD no answer.Press show then change put the voicemail Dn which u had written then next. Now call will go to ur voicemail provided u have ur own presonal mailbox. If it is not there u will have to createe it otherwise it will go to general delivery mailbox. Hope it will be helpful for u. That happens sometimes. Try cycling the power on the voicemail system. If that does not work, you may have to replace the voicemail power supply, or send the voicemail system for repair/replacement.

The night key on the phone only changes the location the trunks or lines ring. The voicemail should be set up with 990 as an " Introduction ", Thank you for calling ABC Company and 991 is the " Instructions ", If you know your party's extension please enter it now. The mail boxes should match the extensions and ring the phone. you need to verify the extension field in each mailbox to make sure they match. Do you have access to the voicemail programming ?
put an "H" after the extension in the voicemail, i.e. 200H, you have to put in your #656 #657 codes into the phones to integrate the voicemail. #656 91, ext of voicemail pilot, hold #657 92, ext of voicemail pilot, speed dial button (program one on the phone if it doesnt already have it), enter the number of seconds before the phone should forward to voicemail, i generally do 16, hold. that should fix that!
