Not enough space message, etc.

Lately my m230 as well as my sister's have been acting strange. When we plug the device in it comes up as TCNAND0, which it never did before. Mine created duplicates of certain files, maybe because they were formatted differently? I deleted them, although the duplicates never appeared on my actual player. Under this TCNAND0 icon it says 492 mg, so i guess this is how much I filled up?? I should be able to fit more songs but it says there is not enough room! What happened to the other 20 mb?? I also tried using the msc format but this doesn't even show any songs. Any help is appreciated, thanks! Getting TCNAND0 error, but can't see my songs in either explorer, media player, or anywhere else. How can I delete if I can't see the files?

Did that but old songs are still on the player. Nothing I've tried to delete and add new songs works.

It's not a hard work that you can have a try powerful program Leawo Tunes Cleaner. Leawo Tunes Cleaner is a professional duplicate music remover.
Step 1. Run Tunes Cleaner and Scan Duplicate Songs
After kicking off Leawo Tunes Cleaner for Windows, click the "Clean-up Duplicates" entry. The program provides 2 duplicates scanning modes: Quick Scan mode and Deep Scan mode. Select one of them to scan duplicate songs.

Step 2. Add Music Files for Duplicates Removing
You could delete duplicate songs in iTunes music library by directly clicking "Scan iTunes" button or click "Add"button to load music files for duplicates removing. Or you could directly drag music files from your local folder to the software for duplicates removing.

Step 3. Start Deleting Duplicates
After loading source music files, click the "Scan" button on the upper-right corner to start scanning duplicates. The program would display all duplicates clearly and suggest what to remove. You could decide which duplicates to delete by checking them and then click the "Remove" button to remove duplicate songs.

When connected to your computer, go to your My Computer folder, and right click on your Mp3 player. You should see "Format Device". This wipes the entire thing. All music will be gone, but it might reset it.

The Music DB refers to the Music Database, or the Artist, Album, and Song info.

The error means your device is too full. It needs some free space on the device to create this information.

Connect your device to the PC and manually delete some files from it in My Computer>Device Name (m240)>MUSIC Folder.

It needs 6MB of free space, so you may need to delete several songs.

Disconnect the device from the PC, it should restart and you should be ok. If the message continues, keep deleting files until its gone,

Best of Luck.

Everything is wiped out and so is the radio! Please help !!

The Music DB refers to the information (i.e. - Artist, Album, etc.).

The device need you to free up 6MB so it can create this.

Connect the device to the PC and delete several songs until you have at least 6MB free.

Disconnect it, restart, and youre all set.

Not enough space message, etc.

a small amount of space is used up by the players operating system. a 512mb player will only actually have about 490 mb of usable space. try upgrading the firmware on your player by going to the sandsik website and looking under product support for instructions. Use windows media player to access your device and delete any any duplicate files to free up some more space.
