Seagate Freeagent 1.5TB hard drive beeping

I have a Seagate Freeagent 1.5TB hard drive. One day I left in a hurry and I forgot to disconnect my hard drive from the power source and from the usb. When i came back after about 5 hours the drive was beeping and every time I connect it to the power it starts beeping. My computer doesn't recognise the drive and I've also tried with two other computers.

Maybe the motor is dead, may need clean room service if data is important, otherwise buy a new drive, or RMA if still warranty.
Good luck.

Remove hard-drive and put it start in to your computer this sounds hard but isn`t. it sounds as the internal board has gone.

Seagate goflex 500gb not detected giving 3 beeps

I would say if it was spinning when it dropped, you are probably out of luck. There are services available for platter recovery, but they are quite expensive. Practice the 3 backup policy.

I own a 320GB seagate freeagent hard disk and accidentally unplugged it from my laptop a few days back. It gives a beeping sound whenever I try plugging it into a laptop and I've tried 3 laptops, all gave...

Connect the 320GB HDD before switching ON the laptop and try to repair using scandisk option to repair the drive. Also use chkdsk /f option in command line mode.

Revert back for more assistance.

you say its beeping? like an error code sequence? i would search the intnet for seagate error codes and try to match the code with the problem. or call tech support.
