Rubber seal damaged. needs to be replaced kenmore model 970-c44052-00 How do I remove sides to get at it?

It seems to be because it is a Canadian model! Where I am :>) You can probably order parts on the '970' model number alone. Most sites will give you a schematic.

your drum bearings have gotten water in them due to a bad lip seal on the back side of the inner drum,if you can buy the bearings and lipseal you can tear it down and replace these rusty noisy bearings,and leaking seal

You should see some plastic plugs or holes for mounting bolts on the opposite side of the freezer case. The latch mechanism should adapt from one side to another.
You would remove the top hinge and then lift the door off of the bottom hinge. Then you would remove the bottom hinge and switch it to the other side. Place the door onto the bottom hinge and then install the top hinge on the other corner of the case to match.
You should be able to move the handle from one side to the other. The magnets in the doorseal should work as before to keep the door closed. The interior light is usually centered on the bottom to aid in reversing the door opening.

You have a bearing problem. The bearings can be removed, there are 2 bearings and 1 rubber seal plug. The tub can be removed from the washer and split into 2 pieces (rear portion and front portion), and the bearings removed using a large hammer and a pipe (put the pipe in the hole so it contacts the bearing and hit the pipe with the hammer, then flip over the tub and do the other bearing - there are videos on You tube). The bearing part number for this washer are TSB 6306-2RS-CTS (smaller bearing) and 6307-2RS-CTS (the larger one). These are sealed bearings, and can be ordered off ebay or a bearing store.

It's a shot...but if I recall correctly the rubber seal thats between the door and the fridge can be peeled back or removed, and underneath are the screws that hold the inside panels on...

I would peel the seal back a little at a time until I actually locate a screw...then once located... I would feel more confident about the removal of the entire seal. Keep in mind the seal is much easier to remove than to replace...I used baby oil in some place to replace the seal...Good Luck!
