Same problem - had the Wii for two weeks, works fine and then this morning, nothing - black screen

  • Anonymous Jan 22, 2009

Same- no picture or sound, discs go in and out okay.
    Console is 3 weeks old.
Tried standard composite cable and component cable- same issue.

same, accepts discs fine but any one else notice weird noises upon startup, instead of the usual boot up sound? Not the AV cable! Replaced that... wii manual is no help, i think its possibly a memory corruption, did anyone else's turn off during saving?

  • Anonymous Feb 28, 2009

Red light comes on when I plug it in. When I press power the light turns green, the drive flashes it's blue light and I can hear the drive mechanism cycle. It will accept disks and eject them.

But....No sound and no display at any time.

Wii makes a horrible noise while loading or ejecting the disc

Hello my name is Tim Ehrhart, I repair 360's and have had this problem with them and there problem is that the magnet that holds the disk in place gets stuck and makes a grinding noise that sounds horrid. Please leave feedback as I am new and trying to build a great rep. Thank You.

Wii making strange noises and wont start game

Unplug anything you have connected via USB. Try that as it has been a constant issue for many first gen Wii's

Disc will not eject

your problem seems to be a failure in the Slot load Tray. it seems that the mechanism which assists in ejecting the Disc could require repairing/replacing.

i would suggest getting in touch with Nintendo customer services about this issue due to it being an internal hardware fault !

hope this helps ?!
