the possible caused of the blue spot on your tv is the convergence. but just try to ask the service center to be sure. bec you said that the product was recalled by sony.

Contact sony as they have been helping customers with the blue spot issue on alot of the wega as the optical block fails causing the blue spots.Sony will cover the cost of the repair.
