SOURCE: Printer not Print data in English Language

Hi, you may want to reset/restore the Epson LX300 to default settings. This can be done by pressing down on the FONT button while powering on the printer. If done right the LX300 will print a test page with the firmware version. It is also possible that the drivers are corrupted. In Start, Printers & Faxes, delete the LX300 printer, restart your PC and then re-install via Add Printer. In some cases, defective parallel cable can also cause problems. Unfortunately the only sure way of checking is by replacing the printer/parallel cable with a known good/operation cable. If the printer would really be requiring service, a Service Manual is available at (http://www.eserviceinfo.com/index.php?what=search2&searchstring=DPA-300) Hope this be of some help to you. Good luck and pls post again how things turn up.

SOURCE: TM-U220 printer is not printing anything.

do a self-test first. Perform by holding down the feed button then powering on the printer. if it prints then it is not a printer issue, but a driver or cable issue.

I am sending raw data to the printer. Where to find ESC codes for different control ops

Hi,

This feature allows experienced users to see exactly what data is
coming to the printer. This can be useful in finding software
problems. When you turn on the hex dump function, the printer
prints all commands and other data in hexadecimal format, along
with a guide section to help you find specific commands.
To use the hex dump feature, follow these steps:
1. After you make sure the printer is off, open the cover.
2. Hold down the FEED button while you turn on the printer.
3. Close the cover.
4. Run any software program that sends data to the printer. The
printer prints “Hexadecimal Dump” and then all the codes it
receives in a two-column format. The first column contains the
hexadecimal codes and the second column gives the ASCII
characters that correspond to the codes.
Hexadecimal Dump
1B 21 00 1B 26 02 40 40 . ! . . & . @ @
1B 25 01 1B 63 34 00 1B . % . . c4 . .
41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 ABCDEFGH
❏ A period (.) is printed for each code that has no ASCII
equivalent.
❏ During the hex dump all commands except DLE EOT and
DLE ENQ are disabled.
5. Open the cover to set the printer off line, so that it will print the
last line.
6. Close the cover and turn off the printer or reset it to turn off the
hex dump mode.

PLEASE CHECK THE LINK TO GET THE ESC CODES:
http://www.mit.edu/~vona/MSim/vona/terminal/VT100_Escape_Codes.html

Hope this helps u ..............

Lexmark x5495 all in one.paper does not come out when printing

It seems there is a possibility of a problem with the printer itself, or perhaps the cartridge. You should first self-test the printer. Since we are unsure where the problem exists, we must do eliminative troubleshooting to rule out parts of the printing system. The self-test allows us to rule out software and the cable by testing the hardware by itself. Please note that this is not a "fix," but rather a diagnostic test to determine if your hardware is at fault.

Please begin by disconnecting the power supply from the wall (not the back of the printer) for at least "30 seconds." Then plug the printer back in.

Next, try this printer self-test by following the steps given below:

1. Make sure the printer is in “Copy Mode.”
2. Press the “Menu” button once.
3. The screen will display “Copy Menu: Copies”.
4. Press the left arrow button once. The screen will display “Copy Menu: Tools”.
5. Press the check button once. The screen with read “Tools: Maintenance”.
6. Press the check button once. The screen with read “Maintenance: Ink Levels”.
7. Press the right arrow button until the screen reads “Maintenance: Print Test Page”.
8. Press the check button once. This will start the Self-Test. Once the page has printed, the printer will stop. The test is not continuous.

The self-test should at least print out a set of either a solid black or solid color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously). Should this test fail, please try it again without cartridges installed. If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with only a color cartridge installed (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed). If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail, please let us know.

If the self-test prints, but has lines or smudges or other print quality issues, please let us know. This includes any print quality issues - we need to know if the problems you have with your black or color are based in the printer, or communications with your computer, or the computer's software.

If the self-test prints your test bar(s) clearly, the printer hardware is not at fault.

2. Press the "Options" button nine times. The "Maintenance" option should appear on the LCD display.
3. Press the right arrow key three times. The "Print Test Page" option should appear.
4. Press "Select."

The self-test should print out some text at the top of the page and a black and gray bar below the text. Should this test fail, try it again without cartridges installed. Printing Problem in Windows XP

Does it seem to print the Windows test page faster than the self test print? If so it is probably printing the self test in a higher resolution than the Win test print (Win test prints are usually printed in low res)

Try printing a simple graphic or document from a piece of software. First in DRAFT mode and then in the HIGHEST Quality setting. See if you notice the "jerky" sensation in the DRAFT mode.

It could be normal for you printer.

DOT MATRIX PRINTER PROBLEM

Hi, to perform a self-test on an Epson LX300 > start with the power switch off. Press LF/FF (middle switch), without releasing that button, power on the printer. If everything is ok it will print a sel-test page. To do a Hex Dump > start at power off, simultaneously press Font and the LF/FF buttons (left & middle buttons), then power on; to revert the printer to its factory default setting(s) > start in off position, press Font (left) button then power on. (Slightly different with an LX300+) Hope this works out for you. Cheers.
