My LG RH265 keeps opening the tray. When I close it with the remote, it opens itself again. This problem repeats itself on and on. What can I do about this, is there a way to reset the recorder?

My RH265 has had this fault three times and on each occasion LG have replaced the 815V DVD Deck (Part No. EAZ34934813) - This fault seems to be common to all their recorders and in my view gives LG an otherwise undeserved very bad name for product reliability. I am very surprised that they do not appear to have solved the problem with a reliable component.

Unlock region on dvd player

please see the next steps: God bless you
  • 1 Turn on the DVD player.
  • 2 Open the DVD disc tray and keep it open. Power on your DVD player and open the disk tray. Leave the tray open as DVD region code hacks need the tray to be open as the code is entered for it to get activated.

  • 3 Press the "Home" key on the DVD remote.
  • 4 Select the "Setup" option.
  • 5 Select the "Lock" icon by using the arrow keys on the remote control.
  • 6 Press the number key "0," seven times on the remote. This is the code-"0000000."
  • 7 Confirm by selecting "OK" when you get the "Region Free" message. Insert an import DVD to test the DVD player.
  • 8 Repeat the steps again if the you encounter problems playing the DVD as you may have missed something.

My dispenser door sticks. It only comes out about 1/2 inch and then you have to keep opening and closing it that little bit until it comes open all the way. Where is it sticking and how do I fix it?

with the dispenser fully opened, reach in the tray to the retaining clip at the top above the tray. depress clip and fully remove tray. rinse tray to remove dirt and detergent, and with a toothbrush scrub away at interior guide path. use a silicone based lubricant on side rails of the dispenser tray and reinsert, open and close till problem is solved, if problem persists repeat proceedure.

The open/close tray will not open. It reads open then close but does not open. It makes a groaning sound as if it's trying to open but can't. There was no warning of this. The display shows imput L2...

Assuming there is nothing stuck in the tray, the gears over time will wear out and the tray will no longer come out. Another possible cause is a weak motor, either way the tray will have to be replaced in order for it to work properly again.

I want the code to play Zone 2 DVDs on my DVD which is set for 4

1) Turn on the player with no disc in the tray
2) Press the Open/Close button to open the tray
3) Press the info button, the firmware version shows up (
4) After the version info disappears, close the tray again by pressing the Open/Close button
5) At this point, it will show "no disc" at the top. Press the Info button again, and this will disappear. If the "no disc" does not disappear then try again by using the REPEAT button
6) Now type the code that applies for your region (R2 is 57538). A '2' will briefly show up at the top left corner
7) Now press 9, and 9 will show up in the top left corner
8) Power off the player, and turn it on again. You'll have a multi region player

I've found the following codes at the 1080P7 hack:
R1 - 29334
R2 - 57538
R3 - 56732
R4 - 76884
R5 - 53814
R6 - 24462
This worked on my dvd1080p9 R2 DVD player

DVD TRAY KEEPS ON OPENING AND CLOSING CONTINOUSLY

Hi, I have exactly the same thing. Happened before but went away when I got bored trying to fix it. This time I phoned LG support and they said take it back to Comet (they have bought out their servicing). End of conversation. Polite but firm.
Appalling support via their websites, appalling products. Never again.

My JVC DR-M70 dvd recorder tray won't close.

Sorry for the delay in following up. My tray problem appears to be resolved, but I wanted to wait a few days to see if the problem returned.

After reading several suggestions on various sites for other makes and models, I started experimenting to see if any would work on my machine. I made several failed attempts before hitting on the right sequence of steps. To the best of my memory, THIS is what finally worked for me:

1) I gently pushed the tray back to it's closed position (note: the solution did not work during previous attempts when I left the tray open)
2) I unplugged the machine for 30 seconds,
3) holding down the remote's open/close button, I plugged the machine back in and immediately pressed the stop button on the player, holding both buttons down for 30 seconds.
4) I unplugged the player AGAIN for 30 seconds, then plugged it back in.

A MIRACLE! Upon hitting the open/close button on the remote, this time the tray opened exactly as it should, and it's been behaving itself ever since. I don't know if any of the steps I performed were unneccesary. All I can tell you is that every time I left out a step, it failed. The first time I followed every step, I had success.

As for my remote: I put in fresh batteries. The open/close button still occasionally tells the tray to open and close simultaneously. tvdokter has suggested cleaning it on the inside, but unfortunately, I only see one screw (inside the battery compartment.) I can't see how to get in without breaking it. Oh well, at least I'm back to be able to play and record my dvds.

Anyway, thanks for the advice. I hope this solution will be helpful to someone else down the line. If anyone has any questions or comments, feel free.

Door

Hi abdu

The problem is that at some stage you or someone else forced the cd open or closed, but not to worry, it's not broken. What happened is that the gear that pulls the tray in, mite have slipped a tooth or two. You'll have to open it up. Take the top cover off. It has four small screws holding it. When you take the cover off, the gear system should reveal itself. Now the gear that pulls the cd tray in and out must me ajusted. Before you open the dvd writer, make sure it is in it's utmost closed position. Very Important!. There should be a screw in the centre of this gear. Carefully unscrew completely. Now it depends on which direction the gear turns when it close the tray. Seeing that it doesn close completely, the gear turns anti clockwise to close. Lift the gear in a up sliding position and turn it one teeth clockwise, press the gear back, fasten the screw and test. If it still needs more adjustment, repeat the process with another teeth clockwise. Note if it worsen that it doesn't close, then you need to reverse the process and move the gear anticlockwise, but make sure to mark the teeth that it was originally on when you opened it.

Hope this helps
Cheers
